I know shit all about hacking but thought I'd post it and see what people have to say about this, so, uh, talk away...

The link brings up some sort of error message. I know pretty much nothing about computers, let alone hacking, so unfortunately, I don't have much to add. ^^'

It should redirect to https://sites.google.com/site/lolanonopsdead/

One part of the criminal organization has taken over their main websites, essentially destroying their public hub from which they managed their attacks on other sites. Rumour states this has to do with the dissent about the Sony hacks, whoever is behind the website takeover appears to disagree with the criminals who hacked Sony and are abusing the stolen data.

Everyone that thinks of the anonymous as an organization that has a website, a base, etc., doesn't know what they are talking about.

Ah, the sweet taste of retribution. Let this be a lesson to Anonymous that you can hack into as many corporations as you want but you do not mess with a mans video games.

I do not understand what this Anonymous is about. Is it about hacking big evil corporations and showing their breaches? Because I see nothing wrong with that.

That's what they'd love to tell you. It's about hacking for lulz and pretending to be a huge threat to 'da evil', while actually it's 99.99% scriptkiddies and /b/-tards with a very small core of people who actually know what they're doing pointing them at targets and keeping their own hands mostly clean.

Just because a rabid dog bites someone you don't like, doesn't mean you should go to it and pet it. It's just as likely to bite you as well.

Hmmm...

I saw this coming a mile away. It was only a matter of time.

I can't really say that I hate anonymous. Anyone who pisses off Shirly Phelps Roper and Wesboro can't be all bad, but they do seem to get a little overconfident from time to time, and I have a LOT of trouble supporting their methods, tactics, and finding justification for their actions. It's their criminal element that bothers me. As good as their hackers are, there are bound to be better ones out there that aren't affiliated with them (or who are but have differing views) who will one-up them from time to time. This is one of those times.

There's a lot wrong with it when it affects the public more than the company. Fair enough, this will cost Sony a lot of money, but it has affected 78 million ordinary users who are now cancelling credit cards and changing passwords in fear.

Whether or not you like Sony, no one should say it's a good thing that this happened.

Ah shit, but I like anon...

So now starts the crazy theories about the anon/sony/possible other hacker conflict. I'll just throw mine out there. Anon were framed by the people (person) who hacked Sony and now those SAME hackers (or hacker) are attacking anon, but setting it up to look like fellow Anon. In doing this they hope to incite a war between Anon members and eventually destroy the entire "group" through both the infighting and the rage from Sony.

Anon is like the Sith. The strong strike down the weak when they least expect it, and those that remain train the next generation how to do the same to them.

Its more along the lines of hacking "big evil corperations" and then stealing and distributing personal information about all the high ups and there family. They also do ddos attacks and generally piss everybody off. Thats what iv heard from here atleast, the easiest discription I can think of and I dont really like it all that much is e-terrorists.
Anonymous is about whatever the hell they feel like doing.

Well, I don't know much about them, even if they have a manifesto of sorts, however, I do believe hacking certain companies is a good way of making a political point. I don't know about Sony, are these people the one who go stealing credit card numbers? Cause that does not seem very ethical.

However, if someone was to hack, for example, Halleyburton or DOW chemical and cause them severe financial damage, I'd be all for it. Justice from the masses.

Actually they do.

Anonymous with a capital is a name for their group. A group which has a form of website and hence base of operations, Anonops. A group which also makes announcements on behalf of their members.

They are not anonymous in the definition sense of the word by any means.
