I played it. It's a good first MMO, but it's not a good one. Go to it if you want an MMO, don't want to waste money and don't mind its graphics.

And someone mind posting a screenshot?

The graphics have vastly improved. I remember when characters were so badly rendered that they didn't even have faces.
Erm, I can't see it?

But I've been thinking of the MMO: After faffing around on it and got the membership, I discovered it had a forum. I made a few good friends there, but when I stopped paying for it and thus couldn't post (yes, you need to pay to post on forums. Life's a *****) I always felt bad I couldn't communicate with 'em.

And I loved how you could make an account and play it: No fees and no download.

Good news- Non-members can post nowadays, as long as they have a total level over 500 (which is really nothing).

Pah, I'm not going to go through hours of grind to post on a forum that my friends may no longer be on, and then get banned from Jagex's stupid censor love.

Really. That's the number one reason I stopped playing: Their goddamned censor. For a game that claims to be for 13+, it really has a stick up its ass.

Don't believe me? Play it for a few hours. You'll know.

EDIT: Sorry if this sounds pissy. I liked RS, just not Jagex.

I actually popped on a few days ago to see what was going on, and that and I was incredibly bored. The freeby stuff consists of 20 quests, but a few are changed around and they added a few new ones to the mix since... The dragon quest that unlocks the blue armor.

They changed some of the older quests around too, instead of grabbing an egg, milk, and flour for that nooby cooking quest, he asks for a large egg, rich flour and some kind of specific milk.

I think they changed this around to keep some one from collecting all 3 before starting the quest so you could just turn them in right away and be done with it, because you need to talk to 2 people to get the upgraded milk and flour.

A few other of the noob quests were like that too, and that's about as far as I got before I got bored and went mining, which by that point my gf was home and I spent time with her instead.

There are about 160 some quests all together if you are part of the members only area. So they've been doing a LOT of changes since the last time I played, and by looking at some of the things they've added, I have NO clue what all those new items would even be used for!

Sadly I can't really spare much money to play the members version, so that's going to have to wait... but I think I might get back into it so I have something to play while I'm at the apartment.

Yyeaahh... no.

Any MMO that doesn' [http://drift.ijji.com/]t have a steady level-up rate is instantly shit if levelling is the only way to get new stuff.

And yes, I did link an apostrophe to a kick-ass MMO I know.

Actually, I play quite a bit, so I know where you're coming from. Runescape is an alright game, but some of the stuff Jagex does is... annoying, to say the least. Still, they don't completely ruin the game, so I play on.

Most of the people who play runescape are 10-12 year olds who parents won't pay for world of warcraft.
that being said the game isn't very good either it's just a cheap rip on world of warcraft
at least most of the quests are decent. the only good WoW questline is Wrathgate.

I played it for a bit in middle school and became a member my freshman year of high school. I admit that the quests were very inventive and fun, and it had some fun activities too. However the game was so absolutely grindtastic, and the community sucked so much I quit with 6 months left on my account.

It didn't help that I was so proud of being lvl 80 and seeing all these lvl 90-100 guys walking around passing me up when I try to sell bow string :(

Ahh, Runescape. The Modern Warfare 2 of MMO's. Massive, vaguely enjoyable and incredibly mediocre.

I lost 2 years of my life to this game. >_> I started playing it again last year, and stopped after about a month when I remembered why I left-murderous grind and the fact that around 5% of the game is available to non-members.
