if you want normal sniping, build maps for normal sniping. you can't snipe on the maps of black ops. i miss wasteland and derail.

Why are they adding a glitch into the game?
I want my assault rifles balanced.
My shotguns to domanate close range
and my sniper to fucking snipe.

I know I'm gonna get flamed for this...but am I the only one who thinks that supporting 'quick-scoping' is basically pandering to a glitch?
My impression was that CoD is supposed to be one of these gritty, twitchy & semi-realistic FPS series (I say semi for obvious reasons).
I can guarantee that real DM's/snipers can't quick-scope -_-'

I agree. However, some of the smaller maps are actually better for a sniper rifle. At least the semi-auto ones. You can dominate literally a column of space in front of you. Which is well, what a sniper would do. Most of the larger maps that would be considered 'sniping' maps (Array, etc.), everyone knows the sniper 'hideouts' so they keep a watch on them or will quickly realize that you are there if they get killed by you.

I definitely agree with this as well. However David said that he would not do that. I really don't want to be in a lobby with someone going 'OH MAH GAWD ZZIRGRIZZ YY LADDER STALL APPLE JUICE FUCKIN TURN AROUND OPTIC HUTCH GOD DAMN SON OF A ***** KILL THAT MOTHER FUCKER COLLATERAL OH BABY A TRIPLE' (Obviously Jesus making fun of the quickscopers). I wish they would just do the playlist idea that many people are having...

Now for my shitty mini-rant:
Sniping is 90% fine the way it is in my opinion. It does not need to become somewhat quickscope friendly. I only have two major problems with sniping right now.
1) The first two snipers (the Dragonov and the WA2000) are too weak to promote new players to snipe. The better ones (by process of elimination, the L96 and the PSG1) are better by far as tools of destruction, but I assume that the majority of people that tried the Dragonov, thought 'Wow this thing sucks' then tried the WA2000 to see if it was any better that the previous. I assume they thought the same thing as with the Dragonov. They probably then said 'Fuckit, I'm not going to use snipers anymore' and missed out on the two that actually could wreak havoc on the other team.
2)'hit detection is not weapon specific and never has been..., people think they are hitting the upper chest, but they are hitting the arms of the player which are in front.' This is my second problem. A bullet from a high caliber, high velocity gun would defiantly go through the arm and hit the person in the chest, maybe even go through it. This would defiantly kill that person. There has been too many times where I would shoot and would hit their arm which is conveniently in-front of their chest. Also remember that mission in COD4 where you start with the Barrett 50. cal. When you hit the Russian person, his arm flies off and he's lying on the ground with clutching his stump. While he does survive, he is not battle ready at the present moment. If that shot was, say, taken in multiplayer, should that not have counted as a kill. Having the person lying on the ground clutching their arm would not make for an exciting game. Also, why use 'They could survive if they got to a hospital' argument? It wouldn't matter. The battle would not be continuing to go on, unless it's a huge scale war.
