I can't help but wonder why you would come out and tell, pretty much, the world you've won that sum of money.

There's been previous winners of huge win who remained anonymous and have never been identified, so it can be done.

Myself, I would keep it hush, I would never do anything to give away the fact I won so much. I wouldn't want to buy a flash car, I would move to a slightly bigger house, but never tell friends I brought it out right. I'd also give a lot to certain charities.
I would spoil my family, but nothing that will make people think "where did they get the money from?"

So - would you come out and tell everyone you won, or would you remain anonymous?
Also, if you ever one that sum, what would you buy?

I'm along those same lines. I don't want every grubby asshole coming to me with some "Oh I'm your cousins, brothers, friends, auties, baby-mommas, grandfathers, best friend, evil twin clone. How are ya? Can I has monies?"

Granted I'd buy a guy for that purpose, something old fashion but still scarey as shit. Like my personal fav, The Tommy Gun.

As for what I'd buy. Houses for family / family friends who've been with us for a while, *****-slap any and all debts for myself and my family, a RV and pretty much anything that'll let me or my friends / family have some fun. After all, moneys of no use if you can't spend it on something.

I think that's too much money if I'm honest. Even if you gave loads away, you cannot deny that that would change everything about you. I think that £3 million would be a great amount to win - you could give some away, pay off debts, buy a nice house, car, holiday, some of the things you wanted, but it wouldn't be enough to live on. EVENTUALLY you'd have to start working again, albeit in a probably a more comfortable environment.
But I just think if you had this much money, what the hell would you do with it? I can think of lots of stuff I'd want to buy, but we all know the cliché about being bored when you have shit loads of money, and I think that would be true. Plus, you'd probably end up losing some of your friends, or at least become distant, as they just couldn't afford to do all the things you wanted to do.

To be honest, if I did win that much, I'd probably dedicate my life to helping others...like build a super-awesome refuge in a third-world country, or something like that.

But then I guess it's hard to say what you'd do hypothetically, because you don't (and possibly, never will) know.

I would buy a jetpack though. Definitely buy a jetpack.

As for revealing myself...I'm not sure. Inevitably people would find out, but I don't know if I would go national like that.

Well things might be different there, but here in Canada you don't have the right to be anonymous as far as I know. Basically the lottery has the right to publish your name. At least I'm pretty sure about that.

Still, if I had the choice I'd rather keep it quiet. Yeah I'd tell people but not announce it publicly. Unless driving a Ferrari is the same thing ;)

I'd want to win as much as possible. $50 million is the max, here. Or maybe $60? Anyway... that much. I'd become a race car driver. It would be awesome.

No, to paranoid and I would think people might want to kill me for my money. I shall stay hidden in the shadows.

If I won a shed load of money I'd say not. Having said that it would hard to miss me in the car park at work pulling doughnuts in my new Ferrarri flipping the bird to the boss as I wave everyone goodbye!!!

I agree. I want to be rich. I don't want to be famous.

I wouldn't tell anyone. I'd pay off a bunch of family bills, but would tell nobody.

Mainly because I have this poor drug addict uncle who's always asking everyone for monet money, and I don't want him bothering me even more.

Also, note to self. Do not try and type replies during a 2 minute break at work on a virtual keyboard you can barely see.

Probably. It would look rather conspicuous when Joe Nobody (me) suddenly buys a three-quarter of a million dollar home, a gorgeous car, and a stake in the Colorado Avalanche NHL franchise.

Well at least he has good taste in art :p

OT: I don't think I'd care if I were revealed. I'm pretty good at saying no to people.

Meh I'd keep it quiet, but those around me would certainly know I won, because for my good friends I'd buy them a whole bunch of cool shit, I'd have an (extremely) nicer car, free booze for life for them, I'd give my parents a lump sum check of at least a million, maybe 2, and I would definitely quit my job, but maybe start up my own company, maybe a gunshop or something.
