I honestly try not to pirate music. I search every store in Novi Sad and if I don't find it then I pirate it.
It's not stealing, it's counterfeiting. Get your legal terms right. We've already defined the exact legal semantics of video game piracy, and movie/music piracy is no different, except the actual musicians aren't seeing a direct loss from the piracy (since they're being paid a flat rate/wage.) And in order to prove anything is truly bad/wrong, first you have to prove the existence of objective morality, which is a whole other can of worms. Unless you're just saying piracy is bad to YOU. honestly i do pirate music..i dont buy the albums for 1 basic reason .. i usually only like 1-2 songs from a single band/artist... sept LinkinPark i like all their music..(i do have an album of em

I find it funny the focus of piracy is mostly music, if when stuff like this came up (don't deny this thread popped up cause of TPB's verdict) people understood that music isn't the one and only thing being pirated maybe more attention would be given to things like movies and video games.
We can sit here, argue, *****, and throw shoes at each other all day about the ethics of piracy but here is the stark matter of fact on the subject. Its here, it grew out of a want for digital access to various forms of media, and until publishers learn to adapt better than iTunes to such a demand on the market it won't be going anywhere for a very long time.
Oh, and sorry but no one needs music to survive, I rarley listen to any form of music and I'm a very happy productive person. To say that you need music to "keep the mood" sounds more like something a stoner would say while still high rather than an actual argument.

piracy is wrong, I cannot disagree with that, however most entertainment mediums are ridiculously over priced. I bought 2 CD's yesterday for £10 in hmv, which is pretty much only because the CD I originally went in for and which was released last year was £18! why the hell is it a small fortune?!
when I buy games I have to buy them second hand or wait until play.com has a sale, but I still buy them... their not necessary so i just get them occasionally, last game I bought was gta4 2 or 3 months back, we can all live without new games folks, no need to turn to piracy to get our games like some junkie stabbing his dealer becuase he has no cash for... drugs.
