I don't think I've experienced love.
But in the past there was a girl who I had feelings for. Early stages involved me twitching and shivering when talking to her, and uncontrolllable smiling. Me a person who hardly ever smiles, she could make me smile without doing anything, and we had fun just by being around eachother.
I didn't date her, she rejected me...

I'm only 17.

But I'm very much sure that I love my boyfriend. Why? Because I'm sure of it. It might sound like a weak point at first, but for me love isn't the emotion that screams the loudest; it's the one that is the most "secure", for lack of a better word. I feel comfortable, confident in my boyfriend that we share our love with eachother.

Love is very varying, it all depends on the people in the relationship. Because even though you can have an immense crush on someone, you might still not be able to maintain a relationship with that person - and many people make the mistake of declaring love in a relationship with a very bad foundation or base or whatever you wanna call it.

But this is from personal observation, people might disagree or experience it differently - and they might be right for their cause.

Also, never forget that there are two people in a relationship - and a massive amount to influence it(friends, family, etc).

In all honesty, I don't believe love is something you can accurately describe with the limited form of written and/or spoken vocabulary we currently possess. It's as simple (and at the same time, as complex) as that.

..But what do I know?

PS:

Imagine me and you, I do
I think about you day and night, it's only right
To think about the girl you lo... *STEAM ROLLLLERRRRR*

I have never felt "love" to anyone, I have never felt sexual interest to any person (male or female).
But what I think love would be is mutual trust and need to care for your companion(s). Love can be shared between one, two, fifty million gazillion people, it is not limited, but love relationship can be considered to be limited to few or two people.

I am not sure have I really missed anything if I haven't felt love. I am happy how I am now and how I have been.

I'm not sure but I think I was in love once, when I was 13-14.

Just thinking about her made me feel really happy and not care about anything bad in the world, it was the best feeling I've ever had (Not had similar feelings since) but alas she left me and I'm still not over her... (Currently 16)

This was different to any feelings caused by hormones, it was much more of a real emotion (I only have about 3-4 that I feel since I hit puberty (Anger, boredom, indifference and happiness) as it coincided with the death of my mother)

If you know there is a clear difference between Lust, Hormones and the feeling you have, that feeling is Love. (In my opinion)

Eh. That's kind of why I dislike saying "I love ____". Because everyone will always think that I'm too young.
But frankly, I experienced thirty years worth of emotions, and I know what love is, and I will fight for my right to love until I die.
I won't say my age, but if you're at all bothered and want to call me a liar and say "You're too young to know" and all that, it should be on my profile.

However, I do, and it's not something I can explain with typed up words.

First of all, fuck off with the relationship threads.

Secondly, love is a cankersore; a disgusting, despicable, offensive, sickening emotion which rots the brain, which destroys the body.
I'm detecting that a certain someone has had a slightly bad experience with the warm and fuzzy side of life?
RAK

I have a feeling you don't like life.
1. Fuck off. No one asked you. You could've simply avoided clicking tthat little button and saved everyone including you a major headache.
2. Either get therapy or become a hermit. Meaning: fix what's wrong with you or leave society. Hating the only thing that keeps society sane is PROBABLY a sign that there's something wrong with you.

What your statement says about you:
1. You got spurned once, and you're a crybaby.
2. You think it's cool to act like a surly bastard. Take my word for it, it's not.
3. You're emo/misanthropic. See above.
hmmm... what the hell is your problem?
what's the thread title? -Love
what do you hate? -Love
Why click on it then? -Because you want to ***** to everyone.

Simulord's been through a LOT worse, and he's still the nicest person on the internet.
Hey now. Aylaine's the nicest person on the Internet (and she's much cuter than me besides). And from what little I know of her, she's been through even worse than I have! I hope that's not a correlative relationship. Because if it is, I don't want to know what I'm gonna have to go through to achieve my goal of being a better person.
Well, I don't know what's happened to Aylaine. I do know she's bloody lovely from the posts and advice she's given. But I've known you around here a lot longer. I guess you're winning by default? :D

But you are always a cheery, decent person anyway, so yeah :)

Before your 18 and developed a cynical mind I think it's just lust.
Although I think lust is more fun than love.

Love is the most powerful, most beautiful, reassuring, most terrifying and most evil of all the human emotions.
At 16, yeah, I'm pretty sure you don't know what love is. "Love" in high school is merely a mixture of lust and the desire to have a relationship.

Not that I know much about love, I've never been in a relationship, but that has to do with my own pessimistic attitude about it

I don't quite get why people submit themselves to love, you need to be completely vulnerable and exposed when you're in relationship.
That leaves you open to get hurt, and I don't think I could ever place that amount of trust in any single human being.

?I don't pretend to know what love is for everyone, but I can tell you what it is for me; love is knowing all about someone, and still wanting to be with them more than any other person, love is trusting them enough to tell them everything about yourself, including the things you might be ashamed of, love is feeling comfortable and safe with someone, but still getting weak knees when they walk into a room and smile at you.?

This, according to a website, on the internets, cause the internet knows everything.

I don't really get love. I don't think I experience it myself, so all I can offer are some things that I've learned from other people.

Love is made of several different emotions and while people talk about love as being the same everywhere, it's a concoction that varies from situation to situation and between individuals. In general, love is probably something that's supposed to be an adhesive between people, something to keep us in groups and at the very least coupled together so that healthy offspring can be reared.

Love, being a whole mess of different emotions, isn't always sexual in nature even when it's romantic. People seem to have drives independent of each other for romantic but non-sexual intimacy and intimacy that happens for sexual stimulation, although most people seem to have trouble discerning between the two because oftentimes they follow each other closely. The importance of courtship behaviour that doesn't necessarily lead to sex and the importance of sexual stimulation varies from person to person, which causes many relationships to fail.

I myself am content with not having a need for intimacy.
