I am not forgiving, SWU was a cheap action game and the prequels still suck, hell the only thing worth while from Lucas in the past few years is maybe the clone war adventures cartoon show?
I bought some DLC for Force Unleashed 2, but due to a bug I couldn't play it. I was told I would have to start a new save to use the content. To my knowledge, the dev team still has not released a patch for this. So I am going to pass. Sigh.

Enough of arcade-style games like The Force Unleashed.

Bring back the Jedi Knight series.

Well there is ALOT of work to be done to make TFU2 into a polished game. The first one had dodgy controls (there was a distinct lag between pressing the button and the action occuring), they need to be sharpened and the camera needs work too. As does the force aiming system.

I dunno, I'm no noob, but I had to jump down to easy to finish TFU1, less because of the difficulty of the enemies, and more because the game just felt broken.

I never figured out why people hated The Force Unleashed. Besides the Star Destroyer (which actually took it down a whole letter grade for me, it was so bad) I thoroughly enjoyed the game. Since I haven't played the last couple God of War games, I'm not even that burned out on quicktime events, so I enjoyed the boss fights very much.
I had no idea it was universally hated. I loved the game... Though admittedly the has it's flaws. The controls can be unreliable and frustrating, the game was too short and the infamous Star Destroyer part, which could have worked if they hadn't had Tie Fighters attacking you.

OMG I loved that game!!!!
(looks around in hope of support...)

Moving on, most of the LA games I have bought I have been reasonably pleased with, battlefront 2, rouge leader, and the lego star wars games, and I'll probably buy this game, dispite FU being a bit of a letdown.

Or this

How about staying true to the ORIGINAL source material.

Well, ok, the filmed source material. Or even some of the fan stuff.

This. Please, really. Don't you noticed that these are the best jedi games ever? I really feel like a freaking jedi, with all those tricks and options. And I loved the jumping.

I fundamentally dislike Star Wars Force Unleashed because you are not hitting the enemies with a jedi lightsaber, you are hitting them with a baseball bat shaped like a jedi lightsaber.
If you were hitting them with a lightsaber, they would just be dismembered or killed like in the jedi knight series. It´s a lightsaber darn! It can cut trough metal! Why do the bounce or even survive a hit with a lightsaber!?

Ok, i needed to get that out of my system.

I'm curious why you think a God Of War QTE is a bad thing, I have yet to encounter one that wasn't absolutely awesome (I haven't played three yet).

I still don't get why people think this is a matter of forgiving lucasarts and Lucas himself. I wanted good things and I paid money for good things. They in turn took my money and gave me mostly garbage. I've always considered that a betrayal of the compact. I give them money and they give me products worth my money. If BioWare aren't involved I don't care about any product that is from the Star Wars brand.

Over the years I've played many fun Star Wars games and I've also played many mediocre ones or even some horrid ones.

Having said that, I doubt this vareity of quality will change with Star Wars games. To be honest, I think this is kind of the story of how the Star Wars franchise continues these days. The marketing departments are primarily responsible for it continuing to do as well as it does, but at the very least every once in a while someone else gets hired to do their own take on the Star Wars universe, like Bioware or Obsidian did or sometimes heck even Lucasarts alone gets great games out like Jedi Outcast, and...all is forgiven...until the next thing comes out directly from George Lucas himself usually. :)

As long as I get a Republic Commando 2, Battlefront 3, KOTOR 3, and Tie Fighter 2, I will forgive you lucasarts.
