I had one, once. I got all tense realizing that I was lucid dreaming, then turned invisible and ran around terrifying people I don't like.

Seriously.

Lucid dreaming is when someone is aware he or she is in a dream, and thus can do whatever he or she desires. This has happened to me twice. Once, I went into a dream knowing what it was and decided I would become a bandit and fly away. The other time I was in a van and I asked the guy next to me if I was in a dream or not, and he smiled. Then I woke up. Has anyone else ever experienced this?

Well, I've tried. And I think I've been really close to WILDing before, but it freaked me out at the time, since I didn't know what was going on.

On the other hand, a few nights ago, I had a dream where I was having a lucid dream. I don't really think that counts though. (It wasn't really that vivid)

I flew into the air! I get those sometimes and the result is me being eaten which feels like being tickled.

When I was little I used to be able to do it every night. I didn't even realise it was lucid dreaming.
It started because I used to have a lot of nightmares until one day I worked out that whatever you thought would happen, would actually happen in the dream. I worry that there might be tigers hiding behind the corner so there ARE tigers hiding behind the corner. After I worked this out I used it to fix my nightmares (I'd turn the tigers into kittens or something). After that, I realised I could do it whether it was a nightmare or not.

Unfortunately, a couple of years ago I stopped being able to do it as frequently and now I can hardly lucid dream at all. I miss it but I'm going to keep trying. Maybe if I can somehow start having nightmares again...

I've only had one lucid dream ever, and I didn't know that a lot of people have thm quite often for years after that.

I tried to teach myself to lucid dream but I could never get myself to do it again, I'm not really sure where I was going wrong.

I have wanted one for a long time, then one day I realised, but it was just after reading the Hitchhiker's Guide series, and for some reason thought it worked the same way as flying according to Douglas Adams (You can only fly if you don't think about it/ realise it) so I didn't do anything.

Now I want another one.

I have full control of my dreams. I can influence any aspect of them at any time. No idea why, but that's how it has always been. I choose what I want to dream of before I go to bed, and I simply dream of that all night.

Yeah, I've already read that haha. For lucid dreaming specifically, http://www.dreamviews.com/content/ is a great resource.

There were this one where I was dreaming about being in a haunted mansion version of my house and these two witches (clothed in regular cloths) was chasing me down, cause they wanted to make stew of me. Then I would halfway wake up from the sun shining through my window, but not enough for me to actually wake up and break off my dream, but enough that I realized that I was dreaming.

So then I fist of the north star'd them. :3

I have once or twice. The first time it happened was during a zombie-apocalypse dream where I realized that if I jumped from a cliff then I'd be safe and be able to wake up. So I jumped and scraped my arm down the side of the cliff and when I woke up, my arm had a bruise right where the scrape was in the dream. Weird stuff man!

I've had one before, although nothing too exciting. I was at a beach, although i'm not clear on where the water was (it wasn't a desert), although there was a bathhouse/changing room nearby. I was aware I was dreaming at some point and started to wander around a bit, but then I woke up.

When you find yourself in a lucid dream...

WE NEED TO GO DEEPER.

Seriously though I've had a few, and they're lots of fun because I usually grant myself flight, which amazingly turned out to feel almost exactly like the way it was described in the hitch hikers guide, when I read it years later.

I remember this one time, I was dreaming that me and my friends stole a car and were driving down the freeway, doing dangerous things, my view switching between first person and third person. Once it was clear we were going to crash, I came to the sudden realization that I was dreaming. "Don't worry guys, I'm dreaming," I told my mental construct chums. We careened off the freeway, did a rather spectacular pirouette mid-air, and hit a lake. We sank to the bottom, my chums escaped and swam away. I freed myself from the wreckage, and started to follow my friends, but stopped. "If I'm dreaming...I don't need to breathe." I stayed under the water and let the air escape from my lungs, and breathed in. I could breathe underwater. I started swimming about happily at this discovery, but then looked upon the wreckage with dismay. It was a nice car. "Let's just push the reset button on the dream!" And so I swam down to the wreck, searched for the button, and found it in the glove box. I pressed it, and the dream rewound itself. The dream stopped being lucid after that, unfortunately.

It happened to me once, and all I could think of was: "Oh cool, I'm in control of my own dream. Let's see if I can wake up on command. WAKE UP!" And then I did. Sadly, that was the only time, and I kinda feel like I wasted an opportunity for consequence free imaginary nookie. EDIT: (With Ellen Page)

I had a dream where I was on a planet. I wanted to wake up, so I thought to myself, "If I roll off of the side of this planet, I'll fall down and wake up as a result of falling." It actually worked. I was rather impressed with myself for possessing such logic while dreaming. xD
