Have you been through the hood lately, anarchy pretty much reigns there. All flowers and roses there let me tell you. Stop with the fairy tales of human cooperation and loving energy. If you want to change the world that's fine but consider your resources. If you have potatoes then there's a list of products you can make with them, if you have lemons then there's another limited list of products. Humanity is the resource we have to work with and one characteristic it's proven time and time again is that it's entirely unreliable and unworkable en masse.

You may want to take this to the R&P section of the site if you feel so strongly about it. Also, you may want to quote people by hitting the quote button so they know that you responded to them.

OT: Hackers man. Why do they exist?
q: mad
a: you
Actually he's right. I know you feel strongly about this however whatever your original argument was it seems to have gotten lost and is now greatly off-topic. Might be best to move it to its own thread. Discuss it there, here its starting to derail the topic at hand.

I want this to happen because hackers that target things like PSN and cost comapanies millions of dollars and attack organisations like the CIA (who keep information a secret for a reason) should get lost.
I think LulzSec should fuck off because they release the personal information of private citizens who have done no wrong. I don't care how much money they cost a huge exploitative corporation, and revealing secret CIA info is a good thing. If the CIA are doing something they feel they need to keep secret, that means it's something the public would probably not want them doing.

Good.

Hopefully they'll find the actual people behind the computers, arrest them, and the arrogant little dickheads can begin to undertsand that even in their sheltered entitled middle class existences sometimes their actions must have consequences.

I love seeing bad men get what they deserve, and even more than that I love seeing idiots who thought that their massive entitlement complexes make up for bullying get what they deserve.

Stand up and fight with principles, and you will be rewarded. Stand up and fight with no side or ideal, and all fights will coem to you.

I salute Team Poison and all those who understand what true Cyberwork is.

I'm pretty ok with people messing with the CIA. There's plenty of shit done with my money, in my name, that I would rather not have done. Also, the CIA managed to create half the reason a lot of countries hate the U.S. and I'd rather that not happen again.
this.

I'm from Chile. The CIA backed and financed a coup d'etat to our democratically elected goverment in '73, and a 20 years long dictatorship was established, killing thoundsands of civilias and tourturing thousands more. With repercusions to our culture and institutions still being felt today.

But nevermind that, your goverment must know what it's doing, let's not ask questions. They wouldn't do anything bad would they?

And so it has begun...the great hackbattle of our time...

In all seriousness I just hope that team poison, in their attacks on lulzsec doesn't become the NEXT lulzsec otherwise I like this, fight fire with fire
How could they? LulzSec has been compromised. Its members will probably be arrested and be forced to stand trial.

OT: Awesome.

Finally. I hope Anon joins in on this. Moral of this story: just because you can, doesn't mean it's funny.
A bunch of different Anonymous splinter groups (Including AnonOps) joined up with LulzSec.

Moral of the story? Hackers are bad. All of them. Even the white hats, because without hackers, we wouldn't NEED white hats.
I ... you ... ye Gods I can only hope you never breed.

Am I really the first person to notice that it says Posion not Poison in the title? Or did the OP simply miss the comments saying that?

OT: It's about time. Lulzsec was getting annoying.

... wut?

On the one hand, I find it hard to believe that a group of people could get so angry about another associating themselves with the former group over a difference in methods.

On the other, I am on a gaming website.

I contend that the very fact that we still have people starving and dying of thirst is proof that profit, or a system that holds profit as the most important thing to society, is evil.
I'm going to divide your statement into two parts in order to show that the first is not the same as the second:

"profit, or a system that holds profit as the most important thing to society, is evil"

1. The various socialist experiments of the late 19th and 20th centuries have shown conclusively that society cannot function effectively without both individual and collective economic incentive, which is typically called profit.

2. From the mere fact that profit exists, it does not follow that profit must become the overarching goal of society.

Furthermore, I maintain that the existence of profitable enterprise is the primary reason why we are not All starving and dying of thirst. A conclusive treatise as to why is beyond the scope of this forum, but by way of a concise proof I offer two facts:

Firstly, that the countries with the highest standards of living are the most economically successful, i.e. the ones with the most profitable enterprises.

Secondly, that efforts to improve the long-term quality of life in underdeveloped nations center around means and methods of making the enterprises of those countries more successful in the global economy.

I knew something like this would happen, just didn't know when. Hopefully this Team Poison sticks to hacking dicks like Lulzsec and doesn't let this victory go to its head.

wow this is pretty cool, but really? team poison? I feel like that's going to be the antagonist group in the next pokemon game... they really couldn't have come up with a cooler name? I mean even el8 is a cooler name than them, because it kind of sounds like elite and that reminds me of halo...

I hope this is real but I'm a little sceptical, especially with the lack of strong sources and other recent misreportings on the whole LulzSec situation. If this is real then remember that just because Team Poison may be doing a good thing in taking down LulzSec their intentions seem to be more neutral than anything. They seem unconcerned with the morality of what LulzSec is doing and seem solely fuelled by a zealous conviction that LulzSec aren't real hackers.
