I'll just wait for S.W.A.T. Saturday. Directly afterwards.
Followed next week by Trial Tuesday and Sentencing Sunday.
Then about a month after that, Sodomy Sunday in the showers.
That's hilarious. Thanks for brightening my otherwise somewhat boring day :D

OT: I want the FBI to catch these guys. I don't know how good LulzSec are, but I really want them to get their comeuppance. I really don't know what they are trying to gain by hacking into the FBI, other than pissing off a load of people, and they are pissing off the wrong group of people if they get caught.

It seems to me that pissing of the FBI is a bad move.
Very bad move.

After all, the have the technology, resources and manpower to hunt them all down if they so please.

So yeah..
Go ahead and laugh while you still can.

They seem to be very active, I wonder what they want to do once they actually get into the FBI files and is that worth it to piss off the FBI.

edit: also why do you announce that your going to hack the FBI that doesn't seem like a smart move on their part.
They announce everything, and noone has been able to stop them. (As mentioned, this is the second time they're going after the FBI. They announced it the first time, and managed to do...something. I wasn't tracking them until a few weeks ago, so 'eh.)
I guess their attention whores, thats really the only reason I can see for announcing all your moves.
There MO is generally to do things for amusement, as their title states lulz.

This is somewhat unrelated, but LulzSec keeps DDOSing the 2600 IRC channel. Which is kind of strange, because that's the IRC they use. That's like...instead of biting the hand that feeds you, they're biting the thing they're feeding? Strange, strange people.

Wasn't it JUST made seriously illegal to hack the US government?

These guys are in way over their heads now.
If by 'seriously illegal' you mean 'We will shove a missile up your ass', then yes.

Yes it is. [http://www.escapistmagazine.com/forums/read/18.288217-So-I-guess-America-really-takes-their-internet-seriously-Updated-with-new-link#11420744]

Sounds like someone is getting to big for their britches. They do know messing with the FBI means going to federal fuck you in the ass prison right? And while not to stereotype, most hackers are the big and tough type that could hold their own in a prison yard.
Federal Prison is a doss, if the defendant has the option (s)he'll always choose a Federal Prison over a State one.

Yeah...Federal Prison is actually much nicer than State prison (Which is the 'fuck-you-in-the-ass' prison).

I guess it's because they treat blue-collar criminals differently than violent criminals. (Generally felonies are blue collar.)

So they're purposefully, in their own free time and without payment, attacking an organisation that is paid to hunt these kind of people down, has a larger amount of money, access to better tech, can cherry pick bright/talented people, will not forgive or forget attacks against it and has the support of other government and international agencies?

I can't see this ending well for Lulzsec if they go ahead with it.

The only way I could see this working for them is if they've picked a patsy or scapegoat and they all keep their mouths shut. Seeing all the bragging they've done so far I don't think that this is a likely scenario.

I'm hoping they do attack the FBI, and in doing so find that they've bitten off more than they can chew and wind up getting arrested for it. It would make me a very happy man to see the hackers of LulzSec walk in chains.

Yeah, these guys are screwed. You jsut don't hack the FBI for lulz. And you certainly don't tell them you will.

Odds are that the FBI will track the hackers down, possible by making sure they have one single glaringly obvious weakness..that is in fact a trap. And then...As someone else said...Swat Saturday. :p

Urgh, they're going to get draconian internet laws enacted.
Mmmmmm yep.

Only issue is how they can regulate a tool that so many people and businesses use... but they're already in talks with REAL hackers as to how to do that, so expect it.
