Well, let's hope then that the people close to you won't give a rat's ass either if you die before your time. For the record, you disgust me beyond belief. When you finally bite the big one, make sure you'll be reincarnated as a rock - that way you won't have to deal with pesky human relations and you won't use up any precious oxygen, either.
OT: Never knew anyone with lung cancer, so I'm sorry to say I don't have any accurate advice for you. About five years ago my mom died of cancer, but I still don't know exactly what type; it was apparently a relapse of her long-dormant breast cancer, which was successfully treated with chemo and radiation, but not before it spread to other organ systems (again, I was never told the specifics).
Basically, if they caught your dad's cancer early enough you might have a shot with chemo and radiation. Best of luck to you and your family.
