I'm no movie critic, i tend to enjoy all the main stream movies, but dear god... that movie looks so bad that I might have actually crapped myself :|

Poor guy; I actually really enjoy his movies, even the more convoluted ones. Sure, they're not very smart, but they're certainly entertaining enough.

Admittedly, this doesn't look great, but it's the fact that it was his involvement, not the concept, that had people laughing that makes me feel bad for him.

Could just be the title, really. In a largely (though not as strongly as before) Christian society such as the United States, the devil is a scary concept, and so a movie boldly naming itself, "Devil" is bound to get jeers and laughter as a defense mechanism.

is unbreakable really worth checking out? i have heard people with Good Opinions say its solid, but im still suspicious, bc they also defended the village, which was abhorrently bad and cheesy.

I haven't actually seen an M Night film, but all the general idea behind them always looked really good. This one does too. I guess they bring up a lot of hype and expectation because they look interesting and mysterious, but fail to deliver. But I'll hold back judgement until I actually see some of his movies.

On another note, I think this guy's youtube comment just spoiled the whole twist of the movie:

"and instead of any one of them being the devil he's possesing them
all at different points."

M Night Shyamalan's new movie trailer for 'Devil' received jeers and laughter when aired in NYC.

Thing is, I'm not quite sure why... there was nothing particularly funny in the trailer, which is here:

Apparently they erupted laughing at the words 'From the mind of M Night Shyamalan. Am I stupidly missing a very obvious joke somewhere?

Anyone know the full story here? Is it something to do with Last Airbender?
I think they find his name funny or something, not a clue.

I think some of you didn't notice, but M.Night Shyamalan didn't Direct this movie. He signed a contract to create "The Night Chronicles", in which he will Produce three movies based on ideas from him. Different people are writing the screenplay and Directing. Just look at the credits at the end of the trailer.
And as far as the "From the mind of M.Night Shyamalan" part of the trailer, it's just to get fans of his to get more exited about it. People will think he Directed it, and go see it. And the studio can say that they never claimed he Directed it (or wrote the screenplay) if anyone notices afterward.

I think his movies are alright, they are suspenseful and entertaining. What more can you ask for eight bucks. Or less if you wait for it to come out in for the red box.

Wow, I didn't think that people even care about Shyamalan anymore. The movie doesn't even look half bad.... though we all know that there'll be some retarded "twist" stuck in there somewhere because... well, just because.

Where has the genius that made The Village disappeared too? M. Night used to be my favorite director... Now, I'm ashamed to admit that most of the time.

Ah, yes. I remember seeing this at Inception and as soon as "From the mind of M. Night Shyamalan" popped up, everyone just yelled "AHHH!!! Damn it!"

The thing is, I thought it looked pretty cool and it's not even an M Night movie. He's just producing it.

Jeez people, you really think he'd do two movies in one year?
