If her parents hadn't been doctors and surgeons, and instead, been poor people from some council estate in Liverpool (just an example), they'd have been prosecuted for neglect.

I'm at the point where I really hope that, at the very least, she's with people that are looking after her. If it's 'the other' then I hope she's dead......anything'd be better than being trapped with some kidnapping paedophile pervert.

I saw Kate and Gerry McCann on TV the other week And I, being a hard-hearted bastard at times, actually felt sorry for them for the first time. Although they have no-one to blame but themselves.

Everyone felt sorry for them the first time, but then they realised that people go missing all the time and no one gives a shit about them. And the overexposure just took the piss.

But people are right, they did get away with neglect if they didn't do it.

What worries me is that senior policemen were paid to sit in a room and release statements like
"We may never find Maddie"
"She may have been kidnapped by paedophiles"
"The Portuguese police may have been completely useless"

Fault of the parents but apart from the bandwagon-smear-campaign when everyone thought they'd killed her (the best one was the bit about how Kate McCann had often thumbed a Bible page that talks about the death of a child - CLEARLY THIS IS VIABLE EVIDENCE TO USE IN A COURT OF LAW) they've gotten away with their complete lack of care for their daughter.

Also I love that Russell Howard bit on the papers, whoever it was who quoted it.

That's the media for you though, they will about face at the drop of a hat, but this whole situation was a can of worms from the start. It also added fuel to the damned fire when they were in an interview and when someone asked about the allegations of them killing her, they just said in a calm manner 'well you're not being very helpful'.

...someone accused you of killing your own child and all you have to say is 'your not being very helpful'??

They've actually sold the movie rights too. Seriously.

The justification? It will bring attention to thier plight and increase awareness.

I can see why they are completely over compensating though, they feel guilty because they know it is themselves who are ultimately responsible.

...I have nothing left to say that won't get me banned.

im here because theyre bringing it up again with the mothers book Maddie (*hidden subtitle* How I Cashed In On The Disappearance Of My Daughter). it tells how she had to deal with accusations and "pressure from the Portuguese police". and by "pressure" they must mean "ok so what actually happened, there's no sign of forced entry outside, witnesses saw a silhouette like Gerry's carrying a child-shape and your other two kids werent disturbed or taken."
one officer got fired for investigating them (or something like that). what the fuck. one witness saw someone carrying something (silhouette i mentioned) and when they saw Gerry holding one son they ID'd the silhouette as him holding Maddie. then the cop got punished for bringing that up.
