Well, some people need to grow up and understand that they aren't the centre of the universe. I haven't played Mafia 2, but shucks, who would've expected a game about the mafia to feature Italian-Americans? Even then that's one example, in an entire universe of games. Just look at the Grand Theft Autos. There is an example of Italian-Americans getting stereotyped the same as most other cultures. African-Americans, Hispanics, Asians, Whites. To be honest, I think that Italian-American culture is less stereotyped than others, certainly not all of the parts that are stereotyped are particularly bad. Honour, loyalty, family. They don't sound too terrible to me.

This is downright ridiculous. Have they played the game -at all-? Throughout the game, Italians are the coolest by far, while blacks and asians are pretty much **** on in comparison:

gimme a break. If anything Mafia 2 makes Italians look cool, and slick. Less can be said for every other race in the game.

Y'know, I'm part Italian myself (and I do look it) and I have never- not once in my entire life- been the victim of an anti-Italian slur. And it's not like I've lived a sheltered life. Maybe they're seeing so much stereotyping because that's all they're looking for?

EVERYONE gets the brown-colored end of the stick in the media sometimes. Unico needs to remember that, while Guidos may come and go, they'll still always have Rocky Balboa. Remember him? The Italian Stallion? Not the brightest bulb in the box, but steadfast and honest as the day is long. That's not a bad portrayal to have.

They're right.

There's certainly no Irish gang, or black gang, or white-American gang and the player character in the DLC is certainly not a white American. And of course, Steve who works with Derek as an associate to the mob is definitely not portrayed as an associate of the mob because he's not Italian.

Unfortunately, they are claiming that there are no Irish criminals that you fight in organized crime that are non Italien. Here:

"During this period there were plenty of murderous thugs and criminals in organized crime that were not Italian American," he added. "But that is not what is portrayed."

So I know it was early in the beginning of the game (they might have been a street gang) but what about the Irish criminals, and the greasers? I know they got wiped decently early, and that the main story was based on the Italiens, but they were there.

Italians are the only ones who get insulted, people stereotype them all the time and it's perfectly alright but if anyone else even disagrees with another group of people it's suddenly a war crime (please note the sarcasm intended here).

Am I the only one reminded of that 'Gingers do have souls' kid who was acting like Ginger people are the only people who are discriminated against in society (even going so far as to refer to them as 'my people')?

Granted, everyone likes to think they're special and that their problems/issues have more weight behind them but at the end of the day we're all just as important (or unimportant as the case may be) and whiney as each other.

While I'm on the subject, I am deeply traumatised by the stereotypes and double guessing I get as a white male, this old fashioned stereotype and hatred of the 'white man' needs to stop now!.

i want to see a story about the Irish Mafia, but it wasnt as big, so i prolly won't ever see it.
And im a half German, and i don't have a problem playing ww2 games where i have to kill Germans, because it happend, they were the bad guys. I know that not all germans are bad, so this whole thing they are saying that kids will get the idea that all italians are muderous thugs, is so stupid.
