Care to put up some info about it? Or a link to something? I have no idea what it is.
MAG, which stands for the hilariously retarded acronym Massive Action Game, is an online shooter in development by Zipper Interactive. These are the guys who brought us the SOCOM series. MAG will be exclusive to the PS3.
What makes MAG unique is that it will, supposedly, support 256 players in a single battle. Each side is divided up into small, eight player tactical teams, led by the player holding the highest rank in the squad. There is also supposed to be a supreme commander system for each side in the battle, like the commander in Battlefield 2, who directs certain teams to take on certain objectives. The commander will always be the highest ranked person on that team, so theoretically the best and most experienced players will form the chain of command. Character customization and weapon and gear customization is expected, and there will supposedly be class systems. Vehicles are in too, ranging from APCs and tanks to, apparently, fighters and bombers.
There will be multiple sides that you choose to fight for. The ideas being thrown around as of right now are the US, some European coalition, and some Middle Eastern coalition like the MEC in Battlefield 2.
For the most part, details are still pretty sketchy. We don't even know if it will be a first or third person shooter. Trailer can be seen here:

I think it looks great so far, and can't wait until we get more details. I am rather skeptical though, and I hope the rumors of pay-to-play are the bogus that I expect they are. Still, if this works...I think we will be dealing with THE online multiplayer console game of this generation.
