I feel like whenever I play a fantasy based game, I always choose the mage. I thought picking the magic characters were common, until I found out my friend only chooses the warrior. Who do you always play as?

Mage or stealhty talky type. I don't like straight up fighters. If at all possible, I like to keep the amount of killing to a minimum. It's far more satisfying to sneak past all the guards, take a garrote wire to their leader, get the treasure, and get out before the front door guard gets done taking a piss in the bushes.

In MMOs, I love to play the healer. It's why I chose a druid in WoW, it gave me the option to access all three. My main alts are a paladin and a priest. Both healing specced.

I hate healers in single player though. At least you get some satisfaction occasionally from thankful players and you have the knowledge that the entire operation would have failed if you weren't there. I hate babysitting the lobotomized chimps that is the AI in singleplayer.

If its a fantasy game, chances are I don't understand its combat that is almost definitely an RPG, or has RPG elements, so I go with the Rouge type because that usually involves sweet talking people so you don't have to engage in combat. Plus its fun to steal things.

Usually a subtle mage type, like a crowd controller/buff/debuffer. Flat out nuking, healing, or fighting bores me, but I can still derive from entertainment from odds and flow manipulation. Sometimes a rogue or rogue/mage mix, depending on how flexible the game is and what options the classes really introduce.

Normally I go for the Mage. I like using long range attacks. Although my new DnD character is a ranger, which is fun to play.

Warrior characters are always the most vanilla class(Well, usually) so I'll play them for what feels like the more authentic experience. But afterwards I like mages.

And when they exist, Jack of All Trades classes are my favourite.

Ever since rolling a mage in WoW, I always play a magic-user type when given the option. It fits my play style well and it's often interesting to see how the different fantasy universes treat magic-users, instead of going with the usually generic "knight in shining armor" warrior type.

Mage.

I can stop and arrow with magic and a sword hands free. It just seems like the logical choice.

Well, i always play as the Rogue. But if that class isn't available, then i choose the archer.

I play(ed) a paladin in WoW, so i also got the fighter/healer experience. But since MMOs and Dragon Age, with tanking classes, I tend to play more that aspect of warriros instead of the pure hack-slash. Archers and pure mages dont have much appeal to me. Arcane Warrior rulez.

It depends on the game. I'm usually the archer (or rogue or thief) and rarely the wizard though.
