This topic reminds of this mention on the internet a few years ago about musical condoms.

Exactly what it says on the tin, they were apparently able to have faster music the more... frenetic the rhythm for lack of better wording here.
I don't think the concept of a musical condom is feasible. Where would you put the speakers?

Personally I always have this playing while I have sex.

Doesn't get more romantic than this.

There's actually a fairly popular Tumblr blog called Music To Have Sex To. They feature generally good tunes all around. They also do a monthly mix on 8tracks.

I have never done it and I don't think I could. I think WAYYYYY too much when listening to music so I wouldn't perform all that well.

Firstly, if you're going to do this, DO NOT PUT YOUR ENTIRE LIBRARY ON SHUFFLE. After some relatively sensual tunes, Polysics suddenly yammering in your ears is not sexy.

Secondly, I actually find it offputting, even to appropriate music. A tune will go on for five minutes, he's probably not even put it in by then, then the next tune starts and the mood is altered slightly. By the end of the next tune you're just about getting into it and then the mood is altered again when the next comes on. It makes me feel like I should be taking cues from the music, or that we should be finished by now, it just makes me feel anxious and hurried.

EDIT: And I couldn't do it to something like Barry White, it would just seem ridiculous and I wouldn't be able to take the act seriously. I think last time my boyfriend put on Massive Attack or something along those lines, which worked as well as it could for me.

Hell yes. It's not always Barry White or similar, but depending on the mood the right music is always spectacular. Some of the more unique ones have been a playlist by Rin', some Nightwish, a bit of country music when she's feeling particularly horny (she hates the music, but will put up with it when she really wants some, so I take advantage of that when I can), and even a Miracle of Sound playlist.

The thing for me is having different tempos for the songs. Keeping the rhythm isn't exactly hard in the first place, but it can be easy to get into one steady beat and finish a bit sooner than either of us would like. Mixing it up a bit means we can take breaks to adjust positions, speeds, and so on.

Music is awesome.

Yes. I've had sex with Electric Six songs on repeat. Can't get more love song that that.
Don't think she approved of my singing along though.

Since the previous posted completely ninjaed my song I'll go with another gem.

I know what you mean and have some quite weird music mixed in with all the rest of my stuff, so just putting it on to listen to normally with other people is strange enough sometimes. I can absolutely beat that for ridiculous and non-sexy though, even without the mood changing every 3-4 minutes when the song changes. My girlfriend left the TV on one time when this episode of TNG was playing, and she'd also lost her remote:

That was pretty weird. So was whichever Pokemon movie was about Deoxys. It really doesn't help that I have ADD and am pretty distractible. Heh.

... In retrospect, playing the new In Flames album wasn't such a good idea.

What might be interesting, however...

Not in the sense I think you mean, but...

downLOAD's Eyes of Stanley Pain album took what would have otherwise been some lightly psilocybin'd shagging into a gooddamn journey.

The closest thing to getting it on to "love music" is The Gathering. Souvenirs, I believe was the album...

There really is an XKCD for everything.

Personally I tried it once, but found it really distracting because prefer to go at my own rhythm, but instead kept synching up with the music. Girlfriend found it hilarious.
