Thankfully, the match bounces off the metal cover, which happens to be locked.
"That didn't really work now, did it." I stick a straight jacket on Paddy.

I walk over to the auctioneer and lead him away from all the fucking murder.
"Do you have an office or something we can go to?"

 

[Paddy the Second]

My tulpa removes the strait jacket and throws Zombie out of a window.

 

[Saltarius]

I run up to the stage and slap Paddy.

"STOP BEING CRAZY THERE ARE VERY FUCKING IMPORTANT MATTERS GOING ON!"

 

[MinimanZombie]

"Dummy number 6! Why! Why the mass murder of Dummies!?"

 

[Paddy the Second]

"Alright Zombie, we'll do things your way, which is apparently the same way as a hormonal teenager playing fucking Call of Duty." I shoot myself in the head.

 

[Saltarius]

"GODDAMIT DON'T SHOOT YOURSELF I NEED RATIONAL PEOPLE! Then again I just smacked you for being crazy..."

"So does this mean the auctions over?" Knife asks.

 

[ShindoL Shill]

I drag Sage past Knife.
"My guess is yeah. So, I'm just gonna ask this guy where the thing is."

 

[RaNDM G]

"Actually we still have two more items to put up. If you would kindly take your filthy hands off me, I would appreciate it."

 

[ShindoL Shill]

"Is one of them this thing?"
I show him a photo of the door.

 

[RaNDM G]

You grab the Scotsman by the collar and drag him real close to your face.

[small]"Listen here you little shit. There are less than ten people in this galaxy who know what that thing is and what the Hell it does. Three of them are in that room waiting to bid on the goddamn thing. What I do not need is some snot-nosed, angst-filled punk keeping them waiting. You're going to back off and let me close the show or I'll shove that machine arm of yours down your throat. Have I made myself clear?"[/small]

I let Sage go and back away.
"You make yourself perfectly clear. However, you should know that I represent another of those people. One who will pay handsomely for you to simply take me to this door and let me walk out with it. This person can either put an obscene amount of money in your bank account... or a bullet in your head. By all means, leave. But I cannot guarantee your safety."
I turn and start walking away.

 

[RaNDM G]

You brush off your coat and walk back onstage.

"What a show this evening. What a show. I want to warn you, this next item will require demonstration. May I kindly ask you to turn off your phones and other wireless devices? Thank you."

You reach into you coat pocket and pull out a small device.

"Next on the block is this little toy."

You push the button. Every surveillance camera in the room overloads, glass cracking and shooting off an array of sparks.

"What it does is send a signal to wireless devices. For espionage, it can serve to destroy cameras, probes, automated weapon systems."

A dummy is rolled out with a Bluetooth headset on its ear.

"Or if necessary."

You push the button again. The headset detonates, blowing a hole in the dummies head and embedding plastic shrapnel on its skin.

"A bomb. These are still prototypes. Due to the experimental nature of these devices, we only have ten for sale at one hundred thousand a piece. Do we have any takers?"

I move to a row of seats at the back of the auction hall and sit down in the shadows. I take out a scope and my Gauss rifle, then set the rifle up on the back of a chair. I slot the scope onto the attachment rail on the top and take aim at Sage's head, adjusting the scope every so often to get a better shot.
I keep my finger next to the activation button until I get the shot lined up.

 

[RaNDM G]

"No takers?"

You hear muttering in the crowd. A hand raises.

[small]"Three."[/small]

"Three for three hundred. Excellent, Sir."

"I'll take the last seven."

"Well, that settles it. No need to get out of your seats just yet. We still have one more slot to fill before tonight's main showing."

 

[ShindoL Shill]

I slow my breathing as the scope crosshairs line up with Sage's head. I pause for a second, then aim slightly below his right shoulder.
My finger hovers over the small button, ready to press it at a moment's notice.

 

[Knife-28]

I tackle Trilby, knocking him and the gauss rifle to the floor. "Dude. Calm. The fuck. Down."

 

[ShindoL Shill]

"I was actually very calm. I was waiting for him to bring out the door. And I was just going to injure him. Nothing a good doctor couldn't fix. Then, I was going to demand he give us the door. It's not a perfect plan, but I did sort of improvise it when Zombie jacked the freaking tank."

 

[MinimanZombie]

I sit down backstage and set up a group chat with everyone.
"So, I think this is going well. We've scared off a shit ton of the competition, Paddy has potentially stopped trying to sabotage us, and no one has actually murdered or injured the Auctioneer. All is going according to plan."
