I get to the lake in time to see Zombie fleeing. "Bastard. I'm fucking freezing, Belano was poor as shit." I stamp my feet in an effort to warm up before reaching into the hole Zombie made and pulling out Salt's sword. "Fucking hell." I return to Sigma's office. "I don't know where I live."

Two SWAT vans follow Salt, led by myself in an unmarked car.

Sister arrives, unarmed.

[color=lightblue]"Hello Salt. I have to admit, knowing I would meet you tonight was a bright way to kick off my day. What can I do you for?"[/color]

"Indeed. I'm glad we could meet on equal terms. Now then, down to business. Why? Why did you start the war? And most importantly, what possessed you to kill Aradia?"

[Saltarius]

"Humor me."

I laugh lowly before turning to Sister.

"For real now."

 

[RaNDM G]

[color=lightblue]"Ms. Megido was gaining popular support. You were afraid the people would usurp you."[/color]

 

[Saltarius]

"That's bullshit. You know I loved her dammit. I'd never hire anybody to take her out."

I create a crystal ball to watch Salt and Sister.

"It's too complicated. Assume I don't know anything from the past two years. Give me a brief rundown of all significant events since then."

Using Sigma's computer I find my address and go to it. A cramped dingy bedsit with old electronics sat in various places, and a fairly modern computer on my desk, surrounded by more paper covered in my handwriting. Tripping on a loose wires brings piles of books tumbling to the floor. "Shit. Poor as fucking balls." I set Salt's sword down on my desk and begin to analyse it.

 

[Sigma Castell]

I snap out of my smoothie-induced brainfreeze.
"Jeeeeeesus that was a bad one...maybe I should stop drinking these..."
I eye the leaflet for [i/]Smoothie Addicts Anonymous[/i]
"...Naaaahhh..."
I vaguely remember something Paddy said whilst I was frozen, and speed-dial him.
"There isnt really much differennce between this universe and the one at the start of Act 4. Salt is Mayor of the Mall, Sister is the leader of the Opposition, Zombie is still going renegade, Ryan has buggered off somewhere, and I'm Salts Secratry. Oh yeah, theres a present for you in the post. It should be there...now. Merry Christmas!"
I hang up and make myself a smoothie.

I open the door to find the package. "What exactly is it Sig? And it's christmas?"

"It's a surprise!"
I trip over a cable and land on my desk, scattering papers everywhere.
"Okay, actually it's a prototype Detectiveifyer. It's got seven different settings, including Noir and Rainbow Candy. And it comes with the SleuthSensor too."
