Eric Williamson, 29, got up at 5:30 a.m. Monday and went to the kitchen to make some coffee. He was naked, but he was alone in the Springfield house, so he didn't think it mattered. WRONG!

A woman and a 7-year-old boy were cutting through Williamson's front yard from a nearby path, according to WTTG-TV, Channel 5 in Washington. Through his front window, they saw Williamson having coffee in his birthday suit.
Fairfax County police showed up and arrested him. Williamson said he had no idea anyone could see him, but police said they believed he wanted to be seen by the public, said WTTG, a Faux News station.
If convicted, Williamson could face one year in jail and a $2,000 fine. He plans to fight the charge.

"If I stood and seemed comfortable in my kitchen, it's natural. It's my kitchen," he told the station.

Okay. Questions I had:
-What was that woman doing with that kid at 0530 on a school day?
-It says "a" seven-year old. Is that even her kid?
-If this man wanted to be seen, why was he up so early and still inside his own house?
So much for "land of the free"

If the man was visible from a main street, I could perhaps understand. But if they had to be in HIS yard to view his noddle (I know of very few house designs that put the kitchen facing the front of the house) than it's not his fault.

Require a diagram of the scene please.

This is really, really old news. And yet, I still agree that the guy was in the right. No problem being naked inside your own home, and what business did the woman and kid have cutting across his path in the first place? If I was the police officer involved then I'd have arrested her for trespassing and left the naked guy in peace...

First, this is a pretty old story

Secondly, source please?

Thirdly, yeah, its stupid. "If convicted" - There's the key word; it'll blow over.

Guaranteed that will never stick and he will be let go.

Usually if there is any sort of complaint taht involves some sort of sexual deviance it will be taken seriously and the perpetrator will be arrested and charged. It's his day in court that really matters, and without the proof that he did it on purpose, then he will be let off.

One: isn't this kind of old? EDIT: ninja'ed, inevitably.
Two: Wasn't he also facing possible sex offender charges? That kind of makes it worse.
Three: Yeah, I blame the woman more than the guy. How about not cutting through somebody elses front yard? Unless I'm mistaken, that's his property.
Four: It's a boy. My guess is that he's seen a penis before; most likely his own. Seriously, people need to chill out.

5:30 am =/= a reasonable time to cut through somebody's yard. As if cutting through somebody's yard is right to begin with.

That is all.
[sub]And that the charge was (let's face it, this is old news) absolute bullshit.[/sub]

Big brother is watching you....

If I want to be nude in my own house I think I very much have a right. Plus, like flames 66 said:

That is the worst kind of bullshit.

Might have thought different if he was doing a little dance and shaking his dick at passers-by but the dude was making a sodding coffee.

And good grief - the child in question is male anyway so really shouldn't be shocked by a penis and the adult should know better than trespass and peer in someone's window.

This is a bit old at this point. He has since been convicted and is attempting to overturn the decision. He was convicted of indecent exposure, but got no jail time and as far as I know is not considered a sex offender.

It was also apparently at 8:30 instead of 5:30 and he lived across the street from a school which is probably why the whole thing was taken so seriously.

Next time you post some news, post the source as well.

"A woman and a 7-year-old boy were [HEADING=1]cutting through Williamson's front yard[/HEADING] from a nearby path, according to WTTG-TV, Channel 5 in"

Oh so they were TRESPASSING at the time they saw him. How the hell could he know they were going to be trespassing at that particular moment and then likely spy on him in his home.

"Year in Prison and a $2000 fine"

What? A whole year in jail and only a $2000 fine? When was this law written... 1929, $2000 is pocket change compared to an ENTIRE YEAR IN PRISON, a felony record, guaranteed to lose your job... Oh and exposing yourself to a minor, that's a criminal conviction that looks great on a resume.

Really? So you can't be naked inside your own home anymore? Yikes! This is kinda scary. I better make sure that when I'm back at my parent's house or in my dorm that I should wear clothes even when I shower. This shit it bananas!

It's a horrible insecurity you get in your own house xD

You think hey! noone's in, I'm in the mood for a naked stroll.
Then you realise you have nosey buggers staring through your window.

Wow thats fucked up.
Yeah is it just me or is America slowly becoming a really shitty place to be?

You should be a lawyer, those would be pretty good questions to bring forward during court.

I heard of something similar for indecent exposure in front of a woman. The article said "If those genders were changed, he'd still be in trouble."

Also, as many have said, it's my house. "Exposure" is when you "expose" yourself somewhere where one would feel "exposed". If you feel "exposed" in your house, you have a pervert of a lnadlord or you need psychological help.

Many have also said this, but what the hell was the lady doing in his yard? With a child? I can understand a few teenagers out in the neighborhood going to another house, but a lady and her kid? What were you doing, walking to the store?

Edit: Is it just me, or does this seem exactly like something the Onion would post?
