And get the state right too, while you're at it.
Haha, good catch. I missed that one.

When did Washington get moved into the Bible belt? It would take one hell of an earthquake to do that since Washington is on the west coast (and if you meant DC it's on the east coast, but at least it's right next to Virginia) and another thing, Washington has the second highest atheist population in the country, and the highest %.

The reason the man was arrested in the first place was because the woman was a police officer's wife. The whole thing should be overturned on appeal, it was a jury that convicted him, a panel of judges should be able to see sense.
When he said Bible belt, I believe he was referring to Virginia where this took place rather than Washington which is where the OP incorrectly reported this as happening.

I also agree with your second point. The whole thing will hopefully get overturned the next time around as there was no overtly lewd behavior involved, though there was apparently more than one complaint which could make things a bit difficult. It'll be interesting to see how the whole thing pans out.

First, this is a pretty old story

Secondly, source please?

Thirdly, yeah, its stupid. "If convicted" - There's the key word; it'll blow over.
Even when putting in the IF the whole case is/was a waste of taxmoney and policeactivety from the first second. If the man was running around showing it to people outside his home it would be one thing, but inside his home he should be allowed to go dressed or undressed as he pleases. Myself enjoy walking around naked in my home when no one around, it's really refreshing.
What's with america and the entire nude-phobia anyway?

When the police were contacted to make the arrest they don't have the full story. Most likely the lady only reported him being naked and a child seeing.

Like I said, it'll blow over in court.

being Greek myself, I don't see why there's such "nude-phobia" here in the states. However, I'm sure that Americans find drinking beer at 11 am odd as well. Its just a culture thing.

"Nobody is more full of shit than a cop, except a cop on television."

Why not arrest the ***** and her kid for trespassing? She wasn't supposed to be in the damn yard.

1. This story is really old.
2. This is absolutely hilarious and sums up how stupid it is in a much better way than I could
I owe you a drink of your choice, that video was awesome!

back on topic, the woman, the arresting police officers and the prosecutor all need a slap for being stupid. A man (or woman) should be allowed to be naked in their own home.

I know this is old, but I cannot even begin to understand one thing:

Would it not have been less time-consuming, cheaper, and far easier to simply slap the guy on the wrist and give him a warning to buy curtains? Then follow up to make sure he bought said curtains? Then no children shall be mortally harmed from his flapping dog and he can walk around his house as nude as he wants.

Blowing it out of proportion, walking across his yard, then throwing the man into jail and lowering the sense of security of every man living in that country is doing nothing but harm and flooding the news with drama that may ruin the man's life.

How close to his house are we talking, here?

This seems like something that would have only been noticed by someone in her situation, walking around so closely to someone's house. Inside someone's house is their private business. This is absurd. The man wasn't flaunting his junk or hoping that someone would see him. She was there in the wrong time and looked in at the right time. And even then... oh dear, a guy's penis... its not like it was shoved in her face. I imagine it would be the equivalent of a blurry picture.

My God! What a tragedy!... What the hell's a Queen Anne?
*facepalm*
It's a British saying. Basically, you say it to somebody who tells stale news as if it was fresh.

Sending this one back to the top with the good news that the bloke involved has been acquitted after the jury deliberated for just twenty minutes (which means they took time for a quick "pee and tea" type break and then shot down the prosecution for being full of shite).
