Gross. Some people are just twisted individuals, sadly, they'll always be around in the world.

Okay, that's a special kind of wrong. I find that most of the time, even the most cringeworthy deeds are not something I'd put it past people to do to each other, but this does raise my eyebrows. At least, most times you can have some basic understanding of "why", but the only way something like this comes about is because someone is utterly sociopathic and/or so psychotic that they have no concept of, or contact with, reality.

everything aside, how can you find a toddler sexually attractive? I refuse to find anyone under 16 attractive, I just feel filthy otherwise.
there are as many different minds as there are stars, you'll never truely understand someone as you aren't them. unfortunatly this sort of stuff happens all the time and is unavoidable, on thing to do is punish the guy and move on.

---------The Everyday Life of a Caring Person-----------
Jan. 17
"An old woman was murdered in her home."
Ohmygoshdarnit that is so horrible, oh gosh, how could someone do this I've lost my faith in humanity.

Jan. 20
A girl was raped and killed on a back street.
Ohmygoshdarnit that is so horrible, oh gosh, how could someone do this I've lost my faith in humanity.

Jan 22.
A man tortured another man over gambling debts.
Ohmygoshdarnit that is so horrible, oh gosh, how could someone do this I've lost my faith in humanity.
---------Repeat this over and over again, just with different news bits------------

Of course it's horrible and etc. etc. and just because it is not unusual we should not stop caring etc. etc... But... Don't you ever get tired of this endless cycle of somebody reading a news post, posting it on a forum and then people fussing over it until the next similar news bit arrives?
TL;DR: Boring thread with no discussion value.

Well, there's another one for The List.

Goddammit, I was sick already. Why did I read that when I knew it would just make it worse.
It's at times like these i wish I had a less visual mind. I can see the guy, and it's awful.

I didn't know you could... rape a toddler.
That smiling and winking avatar seems to indicate a sort of creepy insincerity. D:

Also I'm curious as to what the discussion value is? Are we actually expecting someone to popping in and saying "I think raping and murdering toddlers is a good thing 8D"?
Welcome to the Escapist. Based on the short time I've been here I have seen this place as "Librials comment on obvious threads about obvious things of shock value." Of course, I say this having been just lured into this obvious shock thread.

What do you people want from this thread? Would it be worse if it was an anthropomorphic fox-baby? A brony baby?

Those pesky Librials. I've been here for a while and this isn't what I usually find here.

Well those would be fictional and as such the resulting cost to society would be significantly less.

Who the fuck rapes a 15 month old? How the hell does that even work? I mean the pedophile's victims at least have a chance of surviving such punishment and the ephebophile's are pretty much fully developed. But this... I didn't even know this existed.

What the hell happens in someones life that makes them sexually attracted to toddlers?

Been hearing this story on the local radio stations at work for the last few days. Makes me sick to the stomach everytime I hear it.

To whatever end I hope justice is served.

Don't get me wrong, I think this is disgusting, but I don't see how doing this to a toddler is somehow worse than doing it to an adult. Or worse than doing it to an animal, since adult rats are generally more intelligent (and less annoying) than one year old children, and we do all sorts of horrible things to them in laboratories.
.....*head desk*

Well an Adult for starters can defend themselves somewhat.
A toddler only aged 15 months, CANNOT.

Right, Idontwanttoliveonthisplanetanymore.jpg

I feel disgusted to live in Australia from reading that now.

Yeah, but neither can animals. If we justify slaughtering them on the basis of their being dumb and us being intelligent, should the same not apply to children? A one year old has a smaller cognitive capacity than most farm animals. Surely it should therefore be a lesser crime.

This is why we have the death penalty.

This is why we must always have the death penalty.
It's more a reason we should increase funding for social services/mental health services, because they prevent shitty things like this from happening...this man will likely not be sane. Would you rather have vengeance or it not happening in the first place?

Oh I hope that this insane nutjob never sees the light of day again.

What he did is sick, and inexcusable. You can think of all the depraved shit you want, but the second you hurt someone with it, you're something less than human, and deserve to face serious punishment for it. Especially if you hurt a kid.

...Yeah, if someone shot this guy in cold blood in front of me, I wouldn't feel sorry for him.

*finds useful discussion in this thread* *eats own words*

This is interesting. It's the argument of how much or how little moral protection you assign to animals and humans of a cognitive level on par with animals. It's derived from the whole "how do you define a human being" argument. Usually this spawns from an abortion discussion but you went straight for the baby-killer. No one ever goes for the retard argument. Why does no one ever go for the retard argument?

You are correct in the sense that one cannot justify abortion or baby killing from a cognitive perspective as there are quite few animals smarter than babies and retards. Babies have the potential to become human beings. Baby killing results in the denial of a potential human being to become a human being. Denying people rights is a big thing in America. The whole rights thing is why abortion is legal here. A woman has a right to her body no matter how smart a fetus may or may not be.

Babies aren't fetuses, so they a right to life. Animals have no potential to become human beings.
