Cutting off you wife's head isn't going to improve the world's view on muslims.
How does it have anything to do with him being Muslim? The article itself didn't even directly reference the correlation.
Actually, it did.

Muzzammil Hassan is the founder and chief executive officer of Bridges TV, which he launched in 2004, amid hopes that it would help portray Muslims in a more positive light.
No, that just quoted his involvement in his business and the hopes that it would bring a positive viewpoint to the Muslim faith; that has nothing to do with the motivations behind the murder.

The minute I saw "muslim" in the story, it was no longer "news" to me.
Exactly

Am I the only one who think he could be innocent. The guy is the head of a muslim T.V. station devoted to giving the muslim community better press. While it is pretty bad for anyone to get a divorce I can't help but feel the guy probably isn't a killer.

Besides he was the one to alert the police that his wife was dead. If you kill someone you don't show off the body. You distance yourself and find the best possible alibi you can.

Can't help but feel like posting this will get some government agencies to start watching me.

The most interesting aspect of this story is the fact that the reporter did a horrible job of remaining objective and just reporting the news. A man murdering his wife for divorcing him really doesn't have anything to do with being a Muslim. Yes, he may have been a notable member of the local Muslim community, but does that really factor in to his motivation to kill his wife for divorce? Christians, Jews, and Atheists have never been involved in similar crimes?

The fact that he was a Muslim was probably the only reason this story was ran, not the horror of the actual murder. Congratulations to everyone that fed into the stereotype they spun this story with in order to hook you into reading.
I'm sure if jerry falwel or billy grahm jr (sp on both) killed someone the fact that they were tied to christianity would be mentioned to. So I don't think it was "bad" reporting, just reporting info about a significant (apparently) member of that particular religious community

I guess she'll be another one in the faceless crowd.

Baaaad puns aside, I heard about this on the radio yesterday. Not many details were given other then the part about the guy trying to paint Muslims better. I want to know what was going through this man's head as he did it. How can western civilization take Muslims seriously now, if the one that was saying "we aren't all bad" is the one who did one of the more heinous deeds the stereotype portrays?

On the other hand, the media loves to point out how "crazy they ar' all ova thar!"

Again, as it obviously hasn't been said enough, why on Earth is everyone assuming that he did it?
Because a news article told you he did? Even though it didn't any evidence to back that claim up?

Because on the internet, you are guilty until proven... no wait, you're just guilty. No other part to that phrase...

That's inhumane. I don't care what excuse he has about culture or anything, he should be jailed for life with no chance of ever leaving.

It's not ridiculous, it's human.
Humans are ridiculous.

I can't imagine what possessed him to do this.

I'm also slightly appalled at the number of incredibly tastless jokes being made here.

Just when my faith in humanity reached about one-percent, it just now dropped to zero.

Wow. She's really much better looking than him too.

I bet he never gets laid again in his life: "Hey, aren't you that guy that cut off his wife's head?"

I'm not pretending I know how women think, but I bet that's a big turn off.
