How the hell can anyone fell sorry for this psychotic loser? What about the victims? Did anyone ever think for a second that the reason women didn't want anything to do with him is because he was a weirdo? I have a friend who is a 26 year old virgin because of his attitude towards women. They don't like him because he's bitter and he's bitter because they don't like him. But concerning this murdering ass, I don't relate to him in any way nor feel empathy, his lack of social life was clearly his own doing and because he didn't have the balls to change it he made others suffer for it. He should have just saved himself the trip and only killed himself, or gotten therapy.

You know, I am going to say something that is going to sound entirely mysoginistic and all, but I can relate to this.

Women demand too much of an attraction science these days and push away what they need. Not saying anyone deserved to die, but just saying that there is a perception that maybe...I don't know... people such as this aren't entirely to blame for their actions. Society itself and how people interact with each other make consequences such as this happen.

I feel empathy towards the man. He tried so hard and yet people pushed him away. I am reminded of several other incidents where human beings push away those that desire love and never receive it only because they didn't play the game.

Well im a psychiatry major, ive studied people like that guy in every facet for the past 5 years of my life. It goes without saying that i feel empathy with the family and friends of the innocent people this troubled man murdered. I also have a different view of unstable people. Most, as indicated by your comment, tend to just accuse and not recognize the source of the problem. Mental health is a tricky thing, i just wish people would stop stigmatizing it. It is a horrible thing he did, but im working to prevent these things at the source. Unfortunate psychology in general gets no help from the public who just decrys these acts and then changes the channel.

I agree with you, which is why I think, if he was gunna do this, it was good he kept a log. Lets people actually feel sympathy for him as they can see what he was thinking, which will mean people would be more willing to take steps to prevent stuff like this, rather than just thinking "Mentally retarded scum, good riddens".

That said, I in no way believe the ends justified the means here.

Does this guy remind anyone of the dude who shot Lennon? They seem parallel to me in that both of them adored and wanted something so badly, but they couldn't have it, so eventually it becomes a symbol of hate and anger, then they go do something like that. For Mark Chapman the symbol of loathing was Lennon, for this guy it was women.

Is there a name for this type of thinking? If not, there should be.
