Oh it's party time aright, on math faculties all over the globe. Pie for everyone!

But seeing how I detest almost anything related to numbers, I'll ignore it just like a regular moment,

Well, technically we could have a party of infitisimal short length :).

Ehm 800? How did you get that number? :p
And i beg to differ: some people like math, and I can assure you: there will be parties :)

oh and btw: Pi day ftw, math geeks for life!
Lol. Pi is infinite. It's been calculated to billions of decimal places.

did you know PIE backwards is 3.14?
interesting...
I thought PIE theoretically had no final number and went on forever

I have informed my incredibly smart friend. We shall party, and we shall party hard.

Rock on, Mathematics.

I might do something. Talk to me in a couple of years. At that particular time though, I will probably be asleep. Like I should be now.

It's like a new years party, you spend the entire time counting down!

OT: It doesn't work in Australia, so I won't be celebrating. Damn cool though.

Wow, I was not expecting this much anti-pi rhetoric. I will admit, while I don't associate the constant used for calculating the circumference of a circle with manic festivities and good times, I will certianly make it a point to party on May, 14, 2015 at 9:56. I will also almost certainly eat pie on that day. I don't understand the people going "No, and this is stupid." I figure any days a good day to party, I don't see that there's any point avoiding one just because the date roughly corresponds to a mathematical constant.

I, for one, will party hard! ... Probably.

Pi never ends, yet it's a mathematical constant. That's why it's miraculous. something that never ends shouldn't logically fit where it does in so many math equations, but somehow Pi does it.

There was no real "decision" to use pi to calculate a circle. Using pi is HOW you calculate a circle. There's no real other way to do it, at least mathematically.

So really, it's more then just a number.

That being said, the OP is a dork, and if there are parties on that day, they will only last a second.

Seeing that Pi is infinite to billions of decimal places with no repeating sequences, surely it's possible every day we have a Pi moment...?
