It most certainly is.

Everything must become related to Pi! We'll cut our bushes into circles and spheres!

the sad part is what a lot of people are saying and that is March 14 is not pi day, the closest would be May 31 which is written as 31/4

most of the world uses Day-Month-Year, only the states uses Month-Day-Year, not sure why since it's more logical to do it the first way since it's going from the lowest amount of time to the most

Actually Pi has some 800 decimals or something but i don't really care since its just a number people decided to use to calculate a circle. No one really likes mathematics so i doubt there will be parties.
Pi never ends, yet it's a mathematical constant. That's why it's miraculous. something that never ends shouldn't logically fit where it does in so many math equations, but somehow Pi does it.

There was no real "decision" to use pi to calculate a circle. Using pi is HOW you calculate a circle. There's no real other way to do it, at least mathematically.

So really, it's more then just a number.

That being said, the OP is a dork, and if there are parties on that day, they will only last a second.
Actually it does end. A book was written by two math doctors that has a LOT of pages and calculates it to the last decimal. Its been called the most boring book ever. And to tell you the truth calculating a circle to the last decimals is entirely unnecessary. There's a lot of stuff math goes berserk on, Pi is not the only special number, but i do agree its kinda cool.
No, no they didn't.
Pi is irrational. It repeats forever. They have calculated it to over 10^11 decimal places. This is somewhat unneccesary outside of pure maths, as just 39 decimal places gives you sufficient accuracy to calculate the circumference of the visible universe to within the width of a hydrogen atom.

And yes, Pi is not the only special number. It's just e day is done, and it's impossible to have an i day.
