Zynga? Really? After all the stuff they said and scammed people, somebody still considers them developers?
It's pretty basic: They have bad ideas and are successful. The entertainment industry is an inherently uncreative place. Media is a giant game of follow the leader, and whatever ideas start selling make their way across pretty much everything, corrupting the medium from within. Like a cancer almost.HT_Black said:You know what? I'll be straight with you: I'm hopped up on caffine abd bubblgum and right now I'm PO'd over the Xbox version of HL2, so I'm more than willing to hear what you have to say on the matter. If you have a moment, would you like to spell out your feelings on Valve, and why exactly they suck so much? I'm serious--I'd really love to hear what you have to say.Souplex said:We've been over this:HT_Black said:I fixed it for you, nyek nyek nyek.Souplex said:Zynga again? So much for any notions of respectability.
Zynga is an ass pimple: Unpleasant, but harmless.
Valve is a cancer: A part of the body that has become corrupt and is killing it from within. You might not even realize what's happening until it's too late.
Huh. That is actually a pretty good comparison. But shouldn't you be disgusted by everyone who toes their line, rather than Valve themselves? After all, if their games are indeed bad, they'd have closed shop years ago--is there anything in particular that springs to mind when you say that?Souplex said:It's pretty basic: They have bad ideas and are successful. I thought so too.Novania said:Not Zynga!!!! I thought we got rid of them last year!!!!!
Yeah... how dare anyone not know that. That's like... household knowledge!SirBryghtside said:[
So many people get that wrong. It's even worse when they think ZeniMax-owned companies are partially influenced by BGS... :S

In terms of guilt levels, Valve's fanbase is aboot the level of a junkie. Valve is morally comparable to a dealer.HT_Black said:Huh. That is actually a pretty good comparison. The problem with every thing you said is that the first part regarding game play was popularized by Doom, not Half-Life. The only thing Half-Life popularized was the idea of cut scenes where the player still has control and a mute protagonist, and even those two never exactly broke the mold.Souplex said:In terms of guilt levels, Valve's fanbase is aboot the level of a junkie. Lots of bad games sell well: Pokeymanns, WoWcraft, Metal Cog, Quick Time Event the Movie (Heavy Rain, I like to think most of them don't require explanation though)
Valve is responsible for the surge of games aboot power-armored non-characters, fighting generically evil aliens, using generic guns and one shoehorned in gimmick weapon, assisted by a minority sidekick, and shoehorned in love interest (Valve gets bonus points for making them the same character, making her incredibly annoying, and making her the love interest of a character who we have no in game evidence against being a disembodied pair of hands) to take back the grey-brown wasteland for humanity.
Quake? Some people out there think that Bethesda made Quake!? THE FUCK IS WRONG WITH SOME PEOPLE?SirBryghtside said:But look at this:

Some people think that all these games are developed by Bethesda Game Studios. To not have the kind of thing I put in my post in the OP of their threads would be unfair on the team competing against Bethesda.
Completely off-topic, but I just noticed the shiny blue text and italicised text. When did this happen?Greyfox105 said:Well, I already know the one developer I will be backing all the way, no matter what.
If it comes down to that one facing another of my favourites, well, easy choice, Mojang will easily be the choice I make >.>
Wait, Italic text? What? Where?Steppin Razor said:-Snip-

Uh-huh, fair enough then.Greyfox105 said:Wait, Italic text? What? Where?
Oh, there >.> Sub-title thingy >.>
It happened... sometime last night. Around 12-13 hours ago, perhaps.
I think >.>
I still need to find a place to watch Nanoha A, or find a shop that sells it >.>
Yeah you've got a point there. I guess if a member going to be voting for their favorite dev, most of the time they'll know which games they develop and which ones they publish from third parties. There will be the odd few exceptions, of course.SirBryghtside said:Sorry if I came across as rude, I didn't mean to...

Edit: Oh, and add WET to that list. It sucks that two totally different companies have the same name...
Whaaaaaat? Ah great I hope they don't flame the fans >.> Go Maple Story and Combat Arms!Aylaine said:Go Valve & Blizzard.
I'm surprised Nexon is on there though, hehe. xD
