Bioware to win, i know i'll be backing them every step of the way.

I'll likely be cheering on Mojang, Valve and blizzard too.

One question: Are you supposed to choose you overall favorite or vote on the developer who has had the best games the previous year?

I think it's your own personal preference, but don't quote me on that.

OT: I shall be hiding in my usual hideout for this contest. Not gonna get involved, not gonna go anywhere near it, as one wrong post would fill my inbox with about 30 quotes, more then likely. :p

I'm Commander Shepard. I'm gathering specialists for a mission for BioWare. The odds of survival are...slim. Entire developer contests are disappearing. We don't know how many Valve have taken, but I know this. NOT. ONE. MORE. They say its a suicide mission. But that's never stopped me before.

Oh shit here we go again.

Last year with Zynga and Blizzard was such a spectacular clusterfuck of rage that I am not sure if I want to experience it again. At least disable facebook and twitter voting this time!

Not that I care about the results but I predict that it will boil down to two groups: 1) people who only play on PC (vote for valve/blizzard) seeing as how the majority of forum members are PC gamers, and 2) people who don't really play games at all (vote for zynga) and their sheer number will prove to be a force.

I guess I'll vote for Capcom and then watch them get knocked off in the first round ;_;

Yay! The mayhem is upon us again. Are we going to have a thread for making avatars again? I'll be more than glad to lend a hand if we do. :D

OT: .. G'waaan Capcom! T^T

If I were a gambling man, I'd put my money on Mojang. Minecraft has quite the following around here.

I predict Zynga being crushed. This time /b/ and /v/ will probably get involved in the anti-Zynga crusade earlier. Although, the same groups might also eliminate Mojang, so it will be interesting.

Valve again? So much for any notions of respectability.
Wait, what?

OT: Kind of curious about Zynga.

I mean, they make games, but not for the same audience as the rest of the studios.

Don't worry about him, he just doesn't like Valve at all (And he's already posted his reasons for disliking them and I'd rather not see 2 rants until the brackets go up)

I don't usually do brackets of any sort, though I do love the "post-mortem analysis".
Ironically, I had the Steelers picked for the Superbowl (though they obviously lost) all the way back in the pre-season, and that was a half-hearted guess. But this is something I actually care about, so naturally my guess will be eliminated in the first two rounds (at best).

You can vote however you choose for whatever reason you choose.

Also, if you want a March Mayhem logo avatar (sort of like mine), Sleekgiant is making them in a thread: http://www.escapistmagazine.com/forums/read/18.264712-March-Mayhem-Avatar-Request-Thread

Second note, there are some pretty big prizes this year too for people who participate. It doesn't mean you have to post in the forums, just participate.

Dang, I didn't even know Epic was still around. I thought they got bought out by somebody or something. They made pretty cool games back in the day.

Go Bethesda!

So I can vote for DICE simply because of patriotism?

Well, that simplifies things alot.

Poor Square Enix is like Indiana University. Had an undefeated season a while back. Perennial contenders with their controversial leader. Then when he left amid animosity, the program has struggled. I don't see them making it out of the Round of 32 alive.

Game Freak is like Gonzaga. Rely too heavily on a one superstar to carry them.

Bungie is like Duke. Another hot recruiting class and the most loyal fanbase. But everyone else finds them insufferable, and the fans can be downright obnoxious at the best of times.

Mojang is St. Marys. Hot team coming out of nowhere with solid play in a weak conference. I don't think they have the big game experience to pull this off.

Bethesda is North Carolina. They have a good team this year, but not the overwhelming power of previous years, and their seniors are showing wear and tear.

Blizzard is like Kentucky. They trot out the same style, the same go to moves year after year. And why? Because nobody has figured out how to stop them yet. Add in the return of foreign player from injured reserve, they could be scary.

Valve is like Pitt. Tons of hot players that can get from every angle and get in your face. They're gonna have to fight hard, but they can do that.

Rockstar San Diego is Texas. Super player that won/is winning player of the year. Can the chemistry pull them through?

Finally, Nintendo is Kansas, a team with history, that brought and a new team this year and is making strides. Do they have what it takes to take on more talented crews?
Love the College write up, but as a UNC-CH student I must inform you we have zero seniors and will be going deep into the tourney. Otherwise great comment and go BioWare!
