CD Projeckt has my undying support, love, sword, bow, and axe.

They run GoG, a site that optimizes old classic games for current operating systems and sells them for $10 or less. And sells them with no DRM. They also made The Witcher, one of the 3 or so games of this generation where your choices actually influence the story. Its also a stat-based RPG. Which is practically unheard of these days.

They're also doing this with The Witcher 2. A true branching story, stat-based, and they're releasing it with no DRM.

They treat their customers like people, and not like potential thieves with fat stacks of cash. They went back and re-did The Witcher, optimizing it better, fixing shit-tons of bugs, re-recorded the voices, localized the game better, and did this for free.

They're practically saints of the gaming world. And they have my vote.

last 2 years, bioware has made it to the finals, only to come in second place. This year, Bioware takes the Title. thats my opinion.

Mojang? What the fuck? Sitting on your ass doing nothing nets you a nomination in the March Mayhem? Sweet, I guess.
No, making one of the best Indie games of all time nets you the nomination.
Agreed but I believe it hasn't been released yet >.>
THAT is a valid point. If a developer hasn't released any games, they shouldn't be allowed to compete.

On a completely unrelated note: I noticed last year some people had badges that said that they had successfully predicted the winner of March Mayhem. Will you be able to predict the winner this year too?

EDIT: You could argue that Mojang AB has released one game: Metagun.

For the last two years Bioware beat Relic.

Not this year, we will triumph!

I like how Activision isn't on the list.
probably because Activision's A)A publisher, not a developer and B) because Activision is one of the few companies that members of The Escapist universally hate(as to say I haven't read a single post in the last 6 months or so that has opely defending Activision without it being sarcasm or some form of Trolling)

Mmm I had a feeling someone would tell me it wasn't a developer!

Mind you I said "I like" not "I wonder why"

It's pretty basic: They have bad ideas and are successful. The entertainment industry is an inherently uncreative place. Media is a giant game of follow the leader, and whatever ideas start selling make their way across pretty much everything, corrupting the medium from within. Like a cancer almost.
Bad ideas? Portal is one of the best and most enjoyable 3D puzzle games, and TF2 is the same but for online team based FPSs. Half Life was pretty original at the time, and HL 2 was a good game, if not all that inventive. Did Gabe Newell kill your family or something? So much vitriol against a company everyone else respects seems kind of weird.

All that being said, they didn't release a game last year, so why are they in MM? EDIT- Well they did release DLC and Alien Swarm, so ignore that bit.

Well, Steam Store isn't exactly game developing, it's extraneous to that. DLC on the other hand is, so fair enough. And I didn't realise Valve actually made Alien Swarm, I thought it was a mod or something, ported to run on it's own.

Well its a sequel to a mod if that makes sense. But Valve did indeed develop it.

Wait, did the Guild Wars people get kicked?

I'd get upset but they lost in the first round last year so...
Well... ArenaNet and NCSoft hadn't released anything last year that I know of. Blade and Soul and Guild Wars 2 (which hopefully will get them the sweep next year *crosses fingers*), aren't due out till late this year at the earliest. So... yeah. Then again, the sheer awesomeness of GW2 might have netted a nomination, considering Minecraft isn't "technically" released yet either... *shrug*

Either way, let us unite against Zynga and knock the conniving scammers nice people out in the first round this year!

If Nintendo do not at least make it to the TOP 8, my faith in humanity will be cut through the flimsy talcum string connecting my sanity to my consciousness.

And Valve sucks dick OOH EDGY

Oooh interesting. I like how Mojang is there.... Probably do pretty well. Minecraft is awesome.

I'll probably have to back Valve in the end though...we'll see.

And...oh god....Zynga. Now, I won't hate on them despite my personal views but prepare for a SERIOUS amount of moderation work, given how it went last year 0_O
