Personally, when I heard the news I died a little on the inside. I understand why they would do it, but I never thought the day would come.

As all fans of Red Dwarf know, this should be Wilma Flintstone.

But OT: There's been Simpsons porn out for ages, it was the talk of my middle school back when I was there (about 8 years? And yes, my school was sad, mainly because it was the only thing the filter didn't block, strangely). Marketing ploy, as they've said :p

What? Really, why? what's the point?
I have to agree with you lwm3398 I don't get the point. Nobody looks to Playboy for nude pictures of Marge Simpson, we're still waiting for Dolly Parton.

The link above directs you to MSN news, where the article describes it in a bit more detail. Is it wrong to have a cartoon character in a magazine like Playboy? Or is the concept of beauty itself enough? Please, discuss.

the only thing that sucks about marge being on the cover is that they didnt pick lisa.

D'ya think Wilma's sexy?

Wilma Flintstone?

Maybe we've been alone in deep space too long, but, every time I see that show her body drives me crazy.. is it me?

I think in all probability, Wilma Flintstone is the most desirable woman who ever lived.

That's good. I thought I was going strange.

She's incredible.

What d'ya think of Betty?

Betty Rubble? .. Well, I would go with Betty, but I'd be thinkin' of Wilma.

This is crazy. Why are we talkin' about goin' t'bed with Wilma Flintstone?

You're right. We're nuts. This is an insane conversation.

She'll never leave Fred and we know it.
Red Dwarf is awesome. You are awesome. This whole post is awesome.

Of all the people to pick, they pick Marge Simpson. (Sigh)

And for those who say Jessica Rabbit is the correct choice. Get out and don't come back till you achieve some originality.

Heres my choice. Let the slandering by the people I just zinged commence.

Choice one - Kallen Stadtfeld (Code Geass) [http://i336.photobucket.com/albums/n340/ShowRender/Render%20by%20ZeeH/Code%20Geass/KallenStadtfeld2.png]
Choice two - Yoruichi Shihoin (Bleach) [http://fc03.deviantart.com/fs8/i/2006/164/7/5/Yoruichi_by_vashperado.jpg]
I think the point of it is not that she is a really hot, cartoon character; rather that she is a slightly attractive icon of pop culture. Those girls you have suggested are drawn to be quite physically attractive, but hardly anyone, comparatively, would know who they were.

The only thing weirder than having a cartoon character on the cover of playboy, would be having a pre-pubescent cartoon on the cover of Playboy.

I'm honestly not sure how to react to this. Part of me saw it coming. The other part of me is shocked. I'm almost curious enough to pick up an issue. Then again... Nah...

I am quoting you because this is the most awesome post I will probably see all week. The best part is that it is perfectly relevant!

It's pretty much whatever. Not like it's a huge deal. Like many other people said, it's just a gimmick. But it'll probably get a lot of controversy and some backlash. But at the same token, that's incredible marketing strategy. They know that since it's controversial, there's a good chance that the sale for that particular issue might be high. Since it's a cartoon and The Simpson. But let's be real, Marge has been seen wearing some "silky" nightdresses to bed on the Simpsons. Now people can stop imagining and actually see it. Weird? Maybe, but to each his own.

It could be a good idea (as a joke) to put all kind of cartoon heroes in playboy magazine, but putting only Marge is a bit creepy. If it's not a joke, then blaaah.

Eh. /b/ has been doing much worse for ages now. I really don't care, just seems like a cheap gimmick to get people talking, god knows humor hasn't been the shows forte for quite a while now.

Still, it's a sad day when both The Simpsons and Playboy have to go to such lows for a quick buck.

Well, that'll help Milhouse immensely.

I've stopped taking Playboy seriously, so I don't care who they put on the cover.
