What's your favourite and most hated team member? Combat skills, personality, looks, dialogue lines, just give a reason.

Favourite : Miranda. She's great at combat, rarely goes down, has an awesome femme fatale personality and the love/hate relationship between her an Shepard is ace. Garrus is a close second.

Most hated : Tali. Oh god, I hate her with great intensity. I never used her, except for her loyalty mission. I hate her personality, her voice makes me want to vomit and she's definitely not the person for my Shep.

First of all, I don't hate any of my team members.

Least favourite: Jacob - Useless. Has crappy powers, no unique upgrades and is the least interesting character of the crew. I understand he's supposed to be the "normal" guy and I appreciate him for it. Hell, he's a nice guy. It's just that his uselesness in combat mixed with a bland personality mean that I only take him on his Loyalty mission.

Favourite (Combat) - Samara, Thane, Miranda, Garrus. These three offer strong offensive powers and all except Miranda have one of the good weapons (Snipers and/or Assault Rifles). Miranda makes up for her limited weapon selection with her passive group buffs.

Favourite (Character) - Tali. I love the voice, the character, the romance, the loyalty quest. Easily the most likeable character in the game. Also, both faithful to the original ME1 character but at the same time shows growth. Second place goes to Garrus for being awesome!

Favourites: Legion/Tali. What can I say, I love the techies. Mordin's a runner up but he can't quite compare. Tali's awesome. Legion's awesome.

Hated: Miranda/Jack. Fuck 'em. Miranda whines about being perfect. Oh that must be so hard for you with your huge tits and bubble butt. Plus her facial expressions are so...bland. Even Jacob aka Boring McBland has more facial movement than she does.

As for Jack, she's a rude ***** who needs to put a shirt on. I have dresscodes on my ship, tatoos are not clothes.

Favorite: Legion. Not only is it useful in combat (that sniper rifle is awesome), but it is also a very interesting character. In my opinion, one of the first conversations you have with it is one of the best in the game. You press it for an answer about why it used your old N7 armor to repair it's chest, but it doesn't have an adequate response. We're human, so we can think of several reasons at to why Legion would have done this. But Legion doesn't understand it. The Geth are apparently only beginning to develop their most basic emotions. It was really intriguing. Shame few parts of the game come back to this idea.

Least favorite: Tali. Still hasn't managed to convince me that she's anything but a selfish *****. I'm sure she does have a somewhat decent character if you actually bother to talk to her, but I haven't done that yet.

I don't know what the hell BioWare was thinking when they did this. Unless you dedicate yourself to only renegade or paragon options, you won't be able to talk Mianda/Jack and Legion/Tali out of their funk. It pretty much kills role-playing, and it makes Tali say one of the most irritating lines in the game.

Isn't Thane supposed to die in less than a year? How will he be in Mass Effect 3?

I don't know, I was surprised at how fleshed out Jack (and Grunt, for that matter) ended up being, especially after the hype made her (them) seem totally one dimensional.

Anyway, I don't really dislike any of them, but if I had to choose, I'd take the cop-out and say Zaeed.

As for favorites...well, I like Tali and Garrus, since the whole dynamic is different with them since they've already served with Shepard, and I also really like Mordin.

EDIT: Keep in mind, I've yet to meet Thane, Samara, or Legion.

least favorite: jack, didn't like talking to her all that much, because she comes off as a total psycho most of the time, which didn't make me feel like either romancing her or befriending her beyond loyalty mission
and i never used her in battle, because i myself was a pretty powerful vangard, and she didn't really have anything to add to the team that i didn't already have

favorite character (combat): probably grunt, because i always ended up taking him with me
i kept switching the other member depending on the mission and enemy (tali for synthetics, mordin for organics, and garrus for stright-up heavy combat), but i always had grunt with me for some good old damage soaking and heavy firepower

favorite character (character): tali, at this point, she's probably my favorite character of the entire franchise, and romancing her is extremely fun, and cute
its amazing how you can tell she's blushing even though you cant see her face

I was a big fan of Jack and Legion. Very sadly legion died in my run through so I guess he's out for ME3. If I find out that he would have played a big part in it though I'm just start a new game for 3.

My favourites are Tali or Garrus, both are bulked out character wise and at least are interesting.

Least favourites are Jacob and Jack. Jacob should be renamed 'Generic Human A', there is absolutely nothing interesting or special about him. He's like a black version of Shepherd with no sense of humour or personality. Jack is just cliche in absolutely every regard, I knew how her Loyalty mission was going to go before I even did it.

Favorites are Legion and Tali, with Garrus a close third. Garrus's romance lines are hilariously awkward.

Least favorites are Miranda and Grunt. Miranda for whining about being perfect, and I'm just a bit racist against Krogans.

Legion is my new Hero.

Jack is the most irritating party member since Eiko in FF9. For mostly identical reasons. They're fucking children that think way to much of thiemselves and should just be drug out into the street and executed like the trash they are.

I actually really like Jacob. Sure, he's no the most interesting person, but he's just a genuinely nice guy. Tali irritates the crap out of me though, she still seems like a little girl. Grunt is awesome purely by virtue of being a Krogan and Thane wore coat-tails, so he's cool.

My favorite was easily Mordin. He was already one of the better characters on the ship, but it sealed the deal when I found out
he sings.

I didn't really have a hated character, although Jack was kind of a *****. I started to feel sorry for her after her loyalty mission, but then she had a fight with Miranda and I couldn't talk her out of her bitchy mood (despite having 90% paragon).

Was gonna say almost exactly the same thing about Legion, so I figured I'd save some time and quote. Minus emotions part, I like their emotionless cold logic, this is something I lack.
I also missed Wrex for the whole duration of ME2.

Replaced Tali with Jack and added crazy in this quote, and voila!

PS
My apologies Internet Kraken for stealing your fingers!

Favorite: Garrus. I'm not sure why, but I've always like Garrus the most and I was sad to see what happened to him in ME2.

Least Favorite: Either Jack or Jacob. They are both essentially useless on my game. Jack's personality just annoys the crap out of me and Jacob's loyalty mission made me dislike him for some reason.

I've been rolling with Jacob and Miranda lately, mostly for their dialogue choices, but I take relevant people to relevant places during the NPC side-quests, and sometimes mix things up for the sake of variety. I'm a biotic and do most of the damage myself, so the other two are mostly there for absorbing fire and mopping up the damage I do. Using Grunt and Mordin has been very effective, when I brought them to the Krogan homeworld.

Favorite to talk to: Mordin and Legion.
Favorite to use: Mordin and Garrus/Legion depending on the situation.
Most hated to talk to: Jack. Way too hostile and not the fun Wrex passive-aggressive kind.
Most hated to use: Jack. I played as a Vanguard so she brought nothing to the table. I reveled in the chance to kill her during the final mission.

I'm not counting Tali and Garrus in this because they are the old-game crowd and I already think they are awesome, especially Garrus. Of the new chars...

1. Grunt - A Krogan with a sense of humour. Always fun.
2. Legion - My own personal pet Geth. I respect them a lot more.
3. Zaeed - Because he's just there for the money.
4. Thane - A bit of class.
5. Mordin - Purely for the Gilbert and Sulivan line.
6. Miranda - She's less of a ***** once you get to know her.
7. Jacob - He's okay. A bit token, but okay.
8. Samara - She's just a bit dead.
9. Jack - She's annoying. Tatoos don't make you look tough, they make you look like a walking doodle.
