Mass Effect 2 : Favourite and most hated team members.

Favourites:

- Tali (because her voice acting's great, and I think of her as a little sister)
- Mordin (because he and Joker are the funniest characters in any game I've played)
- Zaeed (who doesn't want a gruff English mercenary at their side?)
- Miranda (because she's the same nationality as me... and maybe pregnant...)




Non-favourites:

- Jack (you're a victim, we understand, get over it and actually be constructive ffs)
- Jacob (he's just ME2's Kaiden, but black, and slightly more talkative)
- Grunt (he's too colourful for a Krogan, and Wrex was better anyway)

What's your favourite and most hated team member? Combat skills, personality, looks, dialogue lines, just give a reason.

Favourite : Miranda. She's great at combat, rarely goes down, has an awesome femme fatale personality and the love/hate relationship between her an Shepard is ace. Garrus is a close second.

Most hated : Tali. Oh god, I hate her with great intensity. I never used her, except for her loyalty mission. I hate her personality, her voice makes me want to vomit and she's definitely not the person for my Shep.

Wow. Complete opposite.

I found every human character boring just like in the first film. Tali's love story really pulled at my heart strings.

All the alien's were good apart from Grunt. Oh and Zaeed is just laughable

Favorite Teammates - Miranda and Grunt. I almost always used them in combat, and I thought I wasn't going to like them personality wise, but I ended up loving them. (they're still no Kaidan/Wrex super fun team though.)

Least Favorite Teammates - Jack and Jacob. Jacob was dull as a character and he just never really stood out to me. (save for the fact he's ripped like a ************.) And Jack...I don't know, I just didn't really like her. (like her better than Jacob though.)

I completely agree. The amount of trust Tali has in you is quite deep.

I loved Samara, because she was just badass, and Zaeed, because of his awesome stories.

Mordin is my favourite character. Why?



My least favourite character is easily Zaeed. There's just nothing redeeming about him. You can't even talk to him so there's no way for him explain why he's an annoying ugly old bastard. I understand why they put him in the DLC rather than the retail game. Didn't even bother to hire him the second time around.

Apart from him there's no one I really dislike. All of them feel like real people and all of them have their own distinct personalities.

Favorite: Tali, by far. I liked her in the first game, but I loved her in the sequel even more. Nice attitude, great voice-acting, and quite well-developed from the first game...in every sense of the word.

Least Favorite: Eh, I didn't really like Zaeed. He was basically Canderous, but with all the likability sucked out.

Favourite? Garrus, by far. I love that guy.

However, Legion and Tali come close second and third. Tali can be a bit selfish, but I generally just like her. And well, Legion does the robot, and is therefore awesome.

People I don't like? Hmm. Jacob and Miranda are a bit boring, and Zaeed it a bit of a huge cliche. But I still sort of like them.

favorites: Legion-a great example of what really happens when machines think for themselves. Grunt-I'd never think I'd see the day when Bioware would show me the most awesome non-human form of puberty/rite of passage and show inner-culture of respected Krogan.

hated: Zaeed-just another sociopathic overly battle-scarred merc with a painful deficit or logos, ethos, or pathos for who he is.

I always used Mordin and Miranda while playing through on insanity, since mirandas Heavy Warp and my Reave (you can pick a power your char starts with once you finish the game once)rip down shields and barriers, and Mordins Heavy Incinerate destroys armour freeing up the target for some biotics.

I love talking to everyone and did all their loyalty missions and had high enough paragon and rengade scores to cheer up Jack once she flipped at Miranda. Although she would only say "Fuck off!" to me when ever i tried to talk to her after even though she remained loyal.

I really REALLY liked meeting Legion. The whole scene, with him scoping you out and his curt "Shepard-Commander" responses. He brings a very interesting perspective on life in his initial conversation. And the idea that I might be able to use, The Quarians, The Geth, and the Rachni against the reapers in the possible third game makes me very excited.

Anyway, my favorite charachters are Tali and Thane. They're both good in combat and they are fascinating charachters, particularly Tali. Thane is like a puzzle I want to unlock and just grill for answers about who he is, his life, his belief's etc. Tali is probably the only team member I could consider being friends with in the real world.

Miranda is probably my least favorite. Scratch that, she IS my least favorite. She always comes across as stuck up and aloof. Even after you help save her sister, she gets annoyed at you if you don't side with her during the argument with Jack, whish is just really petty.

From bad to good, character wise
Jack. Egocentric nutcase.

Morinth. For being a retarded ditz doing it all for the lulz.

Zaaed. Talks and acts like Vincent from The Witcher but lacks any of the traits that made Vincent interesting.
Miranda. One dimensional "mysterious" femme fatale cliche.
Samara. One dimensional Lawful Psychopath cliche.
Grunt. The same but less. Very poor erzats for Wrex.
Thane. Not what i would call interesting but not as retarded as any of the above.
Tali. Came across as very whiny in ME1 and still does in ME2. Has a semi-interesting personally otherwise.
Mordin. Very funny, would have been my favourite if not for all the exposition he shoves down my throat every time i talk to him.
Garrus. The same lovable Dirty Harry ripoff as always.
Legion. "Geth do not intentionally infiltrate."

If i missed anybody, they weren't memorable enough for me to remember 3 hours after last playing the game and probably suck.

Gameplay wise, everything that isn't a sniper Garrus or a sniper anti tank cannon Legion sucks, except for maybe a sniper Thane.

-My favorite team member is Tali, but only when she doubles as the love interest. Otherwise all her idolizing of Shepard comes off as less cute and more creepy. I also had Garrus and Legion.
--Why the Geth as an optional fave? Well, aside from the Garrus/Tali Easter egg, Legion is the only character who directly speaks to Tali in a caring manner. Legion = kind badass.

---Now that my love is out there, I can honestly say that I FUCKING HATED Miranda and Jacob. Jacob is the most ineffectual character I've ever seen in a videogame (no joke), and Miranda is just a ****, especially to Jack (who, after a childhood of drugging, torture, and year or so of rape, I think she's earned the right to be a bit bitchy here and there). I think the fact that the aliens are more human than the humans is supposed to be ironic. I just think Jacob was a waste of a voice actor.

Favorite: Legion. C'mon, you can't resist the "Shepard Commander." He's pretty much the antithesis of Jack's personality. Is the embodiment of logic, with little emotion. Exactly what I need to be on my side for this battle against terrible odds: a loyal ally who actually thinks things through and hardly ever bitches about my logical decisions.

Least favorite: Jack, Jack, Jack. So you've got a past. We all do. Stop using it as an excuse to be bitchy all day. Hating Cerberus I can understand, but general unwillingness to see/admit the truth about what happened even when the evidence is staring her in the face is just annoying. Tries to be badass, comes off as selfish ***** instead.

really liked them all, didn't really hate any. My favorite though is probably Garrus, though I really wish he would've ditched the damaged armor, and Mordin because he is the very model of a scientist salarian.

lest favorite is the black Carth Onasi, not that theres anything wrong with him, and I like that there is atleast one generally nice guy, but he's also the least interesting.

Most Like Companions: Tali, i always thought she was attractive in the first game so i did the romance subplot with her in the second game. I like Miranda when she has her shirt off but at all other times she is a *****.
