Wrex will be in as a cameo, but since he can die in the first game, of course he can't be recruitable. The same's (probably) true for Ash and Kaidan. The devs are already doing a lot of extra scripting for all the choices you make in the first game. The coding to script an extra companion who wouldn't be available for everyone's runs would just be ridiculous.

And please don't judge a new character until the game's actually out. We have about a minute's worth of footage of Grunt for what's probably going to be at least a 20 to 40 hour game. Seriously?

I'll have to re-play the game and use Tali more. I seriously didn't find much use for her.

If I wanted a combat heavy load-out I'd go with the Wrex & Garrus show, although Ashley can hold her own. Most of the time I went with Liara & Garrus as they are both pretty balanced and I brought the noise with my sniper skills.

Yea they said the info. from your selected character from ME1 would carry over so maybe they just don't want to spoil it that if you did a second play through you could save him and have him in ME2.

Raiden was an absolutely brilliant move by Hideo Kojima as all you little annnoying David fanboys got your arse handed to you, when the rest of the game Snake was merely part of the story, rather than the main protagonist.

Metal Gear Solid 2 still remains one of the best in the series, and Raiden was extremely well fleshed out as a character.

Quit your bitching. It was a genius idea, and just goes to show Hideo isn't afraid of completely switching things up. It's what keeps his ideas so fresh as a developer/producer/god of gaming.

As for Wrex... meh, never really liked him, and I was more than happy to...

He cameos in the game (assuming he survived in your save), as do all surviving cast members (apart from Liara, who I haven't heard anything about).

Granted, Grunt is no replacement (and neither is Subject Zero over Liara), but who cares? I'll be using Shepard, Thane (awesome character) and some random. Probably the Salarian.
