She looks to young, and fresh faced I think. Maybe it's the lipstick, the only thing that should make her lips red I think is the blood of her enemies.
You seem to be assuming that ISN'T the blood of her enemies. I'm giving her the benefit of the doubt.

OT: I like it. She looks pissed off (not angry, pissed off) and psychotic in that "I'm going to eat your heart and steal your soul, but for a very good reason" kind of way.

Reminds me a bit of harley quinn and that 11 year old girl from kick-ass.

Now I gotta make another file with a femshep in ME2. there goes another 78 hours of my life.

...has it been that long since I built a character or is that just a younger version of the original default character? Red, shoulder length hair...green eyes? I dunno but it looks a lot like a slightly altered version of the original, default female Shepard [sub]which was a perfectly fine model, in no need of a change up I thought[/sub]

Why does she look like shes 19-22? Isint she supposto be a commander, if thats true how old was she in 1?

Bioware comon you can make far more realistic characters......

Also why the lipstick?

I was under the impression that she was exceptional and rose the ranks quickly because of it. Also possible that Cpt. Anderson saw some kind of crazy potential in her early on and pulled strings to make this happen even faster. I always assumed Sheperd to be somewhere around 25 or thereabouts considering. Is there really that much difference in the appearance of a 22 year old and a 25 year old?

As to the makeup, it's possible that after dealing with strict military uniform rules for years, she finally finds herself as a spectre/working for Cerberus where she can put on makeup if she feels like it. I've known female soldiers, and it's important to them to feel feminine from time to time. I imagine Sheperd enjoys the freedom to be feminine and also a badass commander at the same time.

Alternative explanation: this shot was taken for a recruitment poster. :p

EDIT: just thought of this. Cerberus rebuilt her from pretty much if not completely dead. It's possible the procedure caused her to appear younger due to reconstructive facial surgery.

Would have gone with more of an Ellen Ripley look myself, she looks far too young in that picture and far from a battle-hardened veteran. Still, it's not terrible, could be worse.

Plus it's only the default look, mine will look different anyway.

I like it, perhaps that's just because I have a thing for red heads. I ultimatley would have prefferred the short haired brunette, but this is pretty cool too.

Sweet, she looks freaking scary! That's all I wanted, not a little girl, just a really scary mass murdering hard ass chick.

EH she looks too young and fresh faced to me. I had hoped it would be better when they added more detail but she looks worse in this shot. Really I'm just sick of girls in games always looking like fucking teenage super models whereas the "badass older guy" hero is overused and I probably shouldn?t take it out on bioware even tho shepard IS meant to be 32 in ME2.

I always imagined that while Shepard was the appropriate age for his/her rank in the original Mass Effect, the Lazarus Project brought her/him back to his/her physical prime.

I don't approve of this "winner" one bit.She looks rather young.=o

I really don't care much for FemShep since my "main" is a default MaleShep it really doesn't matter.:p

What has been perplexing me now for a while is that when they choose how to represent the male Shephard, they simply went with using Mark Meer, the voice actor for MaleShep, as the basis for his appearance. But when it is the FemShep representation that's the center of attention we need to have massive votes to determine which FemShep looks best, instead of just using Jennifer Hale (who is a pretty good looking woman) as the basis for her.

To me, it screams of double standard. And as many others have said, she looks far too young, to the point that she reminds me of the re-booted Lara Croft. According to Mass Effect, Commander Shephard is 27 or 29 (I can't remember which, but it can be extrapolated from reading the codex entries).

Pretty sure Sheppie's appearance is based on Mark Vanderloo, a model. They should just have used a real female actress/model to base femshep's model on. Hell, even as a hetero male, I find the base model for maleshep to be attractive while default model for femshep was just a plain looking woman, though with a few modification she can look much better, however the chosen model for femshep definitely looks too young and wearing too much make up.

I think we're missing a key point here: Is she young? Yes. Is she scary? Quite. But is she hot? So much so.

She looks like a psychopath...

However, I'm more interested in the fact that Bioware has kind of abandoned realism; a twenty(?) year old isn't quite old enough to have reached such a senior position...

That said, I've never once even considered playing as Femshep, so I'm don't really care.
