Akari Mizunashi, Nono, Flonne, Vash the Stampede, Aino Heart, Polka, and Bang Shishigami all hold hands and sing the most beautiful song in the universe about friendship, trust, justice and the power of love and teach the Reapers how to be good so they apologize for all the bad stuff they've done and help fix everything and start an orphanage for all the victims of the war.

...What? Don't look at me like that. IT WOULD BE AWESOME OKAY!!!

Oh please don't let this happen... It's the exact same as DA:O, and basically ME2, the difference being you just round up individuals in that one.
But I'm getting sick having to acquire allies and finding that they all need you to desperately complete some quest to save them before they join you.

My guess? The Geth fleet saves the day. According to Mass Effect codex the Heretic Geth fleet (roughly 1000 ships or so seems like a decent guess of their fleet size seeing as how they only use dropships and cruisers) was only about %5 of the total Geth military strength. That being said the Quarian Migrant fleet would get royally fucked up if they tried to re-invade Geth territory and it might just be enough turn the tide against the reaper fleet. Sovereign did manage to do some serious damage to the human fifth fleet that responded but he was eventually destroyed and if you can manage to unite the Geth, Turians, Asari, Salarians, Rachni, Quarians, Batarians, Krogan, and Alliance then you would stand a good chance of bringing down the reaper fleet. We might actually see something similar to Dragon Age where a good portion of the story is spent uniting the intelligent races of the Galaxy for a climactic final battle with the reapers. Something that seems like it would be easier if you chose the Paragon options.
And Legion foreshadowed a 'plan' made by the Geth in ME2. Didn't say what for, but something would happen and the entire galaxy would be affected by it.

I think it'll go like dragon age. Build up army. Find a way to destory the big bad. All the races you gathered up and help you throughout the battle.

Umm.... you seem to be confusing Bioware with George Lucas.
and the difference is...
Bioware consistently writes well. (remember KOTOR? It was easily better than most of the actual Star Wars movies)
Aha, no.... they did, up until Mass Effect II.
The story for ME2 was just an incoherent piece of shit they tried to force you to believe.

Liara/Tali/Ash/Jack/Miranda/Kelly(mix and match any 2) will get in an awesome fight over Shepard, were the paragon choice would be to break it up, and the renegade choice would be to take pictures for joker!
this will happen i hope:) i also beleave the friends you made will decide the outcome of the final battle. I mean if you made nice with the geth and quorians and got them working with each other, saved the rachni queen, kept rex alive, and saved the council youll live through the final battle with everyone on your crew alive. If you didnt do most of those you get the dark ending were everyone dies or you do half save the galixy but you die doing it. in any case it will be a game for the ages if only to see miranda beat the liveing shit out of ash:)

Ah yes, I completely forgot about that aspect, but it fits the style of their games perfectly. How much do you want to bet that you have to "settle" the Quarian/Geth conflict, and the manner/outcome of your mediation depends on who is allied with you against the Reapers?

I think a Miranda/Liara Biotic fight would be awesome to watch. But I do agree that the ultimate paragon ending is going to be you uniting all the races in one gigantic fleet of ass kickery(with Krogan boarding parties).

I'd say it was basically a given considering the conflict between Legion / Tali in ME2.
And you're right in saying that it fits the style, however I would like more missions/gametime for AFTER you have acquired all your party members/allies. I always feel as though I'm gathering this huge epic army, but I'm given all of 2 missions to use it for.

you didnt carry over your saved game from ME 1 did you? If you did and youll probily say you did even if you didnt you must not have paid much attention to what was said or done thats the only way i can see someone saying it had bad writeing. Unless of corse you didnt like the first game, if thats the case why did you get the second one?

BTW if you guys are looking for something to scratch your good story itch in the mass effect world buy the DLC overlord i swear it almost made me cry it was so good check it out:)

Good point, I wouldn't want to be on the receiving end of an angry jack.

I bet the main points in ME3 is how you dealt with the Reaper Station, Geth, Quarian and Krogan. Depending on what you did there depends on if you win or not. Most other actions you did will probably only have a small effect on the game like if an npc asks you to do something or not.

I carried over my previous save game, and I loved the first game. The plot for the second (apart from the story choices you made) went batshit insane, and didn't coincide much with the first game. Drew Karpyshyn just decided to shit all over what could have been a great story.

Mass effect seems to be Dragon age but stretched into three games. You have already started to build up armies, you can save the Rachni, the Geth, and you have contacts with some key player. You have contacts with clan Urdnot, Liara is hunting down the shadow broker (I bet she will become the new one), you have worked with the quarians, cerberus, ect. Seems like a rather large group of allies for a small ending.

I am thinking it will be a massive war, the council will be hesitant to commit their forces thus meaning you have to do a lot of work to make them feel better about actually fighting the reapers and doing their damn job. I am willing to bet that the reapers will have a nice army of fleshy people who want to be robots.

I just want to have more trips to the planet?s surface and more damn gun choices.

Seriously... there were so many plotholes in the game. I've created several threads bitching about the flaws of the game (and got flamed by nearly everyone who loved it), and the problems with the story. I can't be bothered to type them out all over again (there's alot). Look in my previous threads if you really care that much.
I'm all bitched out, and praying III doesn't suck.

You do realize Mass Effect 2 was more the intermediate story between the two larger campaigns (Mass Effect and the soon Mass Effect 3), right? Any "plotholes" are only there due to the fact the ending wasn't supposed to tie up all the strings, simply set you up for the coming of ME3.

Though I am curious, give a link to your "flaws" thread? Oh, and ahem.. mining doesn't count~!
