I've actualy wanted this.
Me and my mates who have completed ME 2 talk about how awsome it would be to be able to play the story in Co-op mode. Maybe the host of the game would play as there Shepard but the others would play faceless blanks but with their Shepards lvls items and abilitys/class.
Much like Fable II?

Yeah, that went really well.
Sorry, haven't played it. Maybe if it was released on pc...

I don't see why not, your running around with two npc anyway, they can flesh out both at the same time if the mufti is the single. I'm guessing they would use the chatting system from the old republic. Might be better to try it as free dlc for me2, doesn't have to be big, hell doesn't have to be new content. just take one of the support missions.

Neither have I, but the outcry from Fable fans was hard to ignore.

Basically, another in the long list of no matter what you do there will be a very vocal group wanting you to do more.

Like now, an inherently single player game being moulded to fit an multiplayer dynamic. No matter what anyone says, it will upset the game dynamic and it will be for the wrost.

For those of you that have been in relationships, you'll know that if you start as mean to go on there isn't any issues, but you bring in changes in an established set up and fires brew.

The Big NO. this game rocked becasue the put effort into the single and didnt focus more on multi.

keep my single player masterpieces that way.

there would be none of what makes mass effect great only combat which will get boring fast.

If the multiplayer is a distinct and completely seperate thing from the single player fine. But if it's going to harm the quality or duration of the single player then no i most definately do not want!!!

Look at GTA 4, Bioshock 2 and the Rainbow 6 series.

All examples of unbalanced and dead multiplayer.

Bioware should concentrate the resources on the single player game.
Rainbow six dead? There are still a bunch of games on RV2 (at lest on the 360)
and the old school RB games have a ton of dedicated players.

I don't see how this is a bad thing at all. Some seperate co-op mission things would be fun and any changes made to the cover mechanics in Mass Effect 3 could very well lend themselves to a multiplayer mode.

Multiplayer doesn't mean versus.

I've always thought co-op in ME would be awesome, considering you're already a squad of three.

I don't know how i feel about this i would hate for them to lack on Mass Effect 3's story because they were too focused on a multiplayer mode. But then again you never know it could be good but i'm not going to hold my breath. But if they do go along with this they better still put most of their effort into the single player because i'm looking forward to an epic conclusion to the Mass Effect story. Hopefully it's not competitive multiplayer they are thinking about doing but instead a co-op mode..that would be good.

ONLY if it doesn't follow Shepard's story. If it were a multiplayer game set in the ME universe that would be cool (I'm thinking similar to Bioshock 2's multi). But you CANNOT go putting multiplayer in the Shepard storyline, otherwise you'd fuck the whole thing up. ME has a great storyline and it would only suffer from inserting multiplayer into the mix.

I do not want to see a MP mode in ME3!!!!
It would just take away from the concentration that should go into the Single Player story.
Mass Effect is just fine without multiplayer...we don't need Coop either.....just one person, being their own Shepard, in an AMAZING story, saving the galaxy.

It is a perfect game as is without multiplayer, it doesn't need it, ME and ME2 didn't need it.
No MP for ME!!!

I would much rather have the effort and money go into more explorable planets/more detail and expansiveness of the galaxy

This sounds like a ploy by EA to get more money out of the Mass Effect franchise. First they directly cater to a new audience, while more-or-less disregarding the audience they already had from the first game, now they're adding multiplayer to a game that shouldn't. Well, Mass Effect 3 shouldn't. After ME 3 I don't really care.

I'm going to play Mass Effect 2's multiplayer twice as much as I played Metroid Prime 2's multiplayer.

Isn't Multiplayer what they put in when they don't think the single player can support itself?

Yeah, that's not Mass Effect.

Groan.

First Assassins Creed, then possibly Mass Effect. What perfectly decent singleplayer experience will have multiplayer shoehorned into it next?

I like the above two games series because they're solely (or predominantly) singleplayer. There are plenty of other games out there I can play for my "getting shot at my a mouthy kid too young to play the game question" fix.

Even Co-op....just, no. It's all about story and personal experience. If you emphasise shooter mechanics and shit like that...Bioware, for you it's a terrible idea. Concentrate on the Old Republic; that's what seriously needs to draw your attention right now if it is what you say it's going to be. Personally I have doubts but I really want you to prove me wrong.
