Mass Effect Could Get New Multiplayer Mode

This series is just about ruined now. Dumbing down Mass Effect 2 for shooter idiots wasnt enough, now they are potentially set to introduce multiplayer?

They already should have called the sequel Gears of Effect 2. Evidently it might not have been enough to stop there.

Youd think as well that certain info outlets about the games sales would teach them a lesson. If the figures released by various sources are to be believed, its currently limping towards 2 million, nowhere near the sales of the games it shamelessly wants to ape.

Clearly "listening to the fans" on counts when it meets with Biowares "dumbed down, shooter appealing" agenda.

The story and characters were garbage in ME2 with its shooter oriented single player gameplay alone. If they potentially add in multiplayer for ME3, I wont even bother playing the game, I know it will be a shit end to a currently shit trilogy that wasted such an excellent start by ME1.

God, NO!! First Dead Space, Assassin'S Creed, Uncharted, and now Mass Effect as well? When will developers learn that sometimes, the single player experience should remain a single-player experience. All the money and time they pour into that mode could have been put into making the actual game better instead! I've no problem with multiplayer game, just games with multiplayer that definitely do not need it.

OK Bioware, I'm really not sure if you understand what made your own great game great. I really doubt that the multiplayer will be good. I also hope that it's only a minor feature and doesn't ruin Mass Effect forever, I would hate to live the rest of my life with that on my concience.

Mass Effect really doesn't need a multiplayer element. Unless they really beef up ME's shooting mechanics, I don't think it'll function very well as a multiplayer game.

Maybe as a co-op game? One can control Tali, Garrus, or any of the other characters while the other controls Sheperd? I can see that work, but anything else seems illogical.

As long as the single player is not sabotaged in favor of the multiplayer then I see no problem with this. At best, we'll get something that will increase the life span of the game. At worst, we'll get a 1 or 2 hour distraction after finishing the main storyline.

If they're going for Co-Op missions then I'm all for that. Playing with a friend is always fun.

It's Bioware. They won't let anything bad happen to their baby. Besides, best case scenario is they get it spot on and we end up with rocking SP and some extra added MP. Again, it's Bioware, best case scenarios are what they do

Multiplayer isn't the end of the world. Just because something doesn't fit into your exact definition of "perfect" doesn't mean that it's going to be the worst thing to happen to mankind this side of nuclear armageddon!

I'm looking forward to it. If you guys are so resistant to this, keep cowering in your rooms/basements/dens and ranting about how Bioware is screwing the fanbase and how they suck because they're ruining games that were good! I'll be playing the multiplayer Mass Effect game and enjoying the hell out of it.

If it's co-op thats fine, so long as I am Shepard and I make the decisions, multiplayer is a big fucking no-no. I don't want Mass Effect 3 to be some shitty 10 hour game thanks.

If I was them I would set it up for Co-op with one Person as Shep and the rest with a squad mate. If they keep the resource mechanic you could earn Supplies by running as squad mates. It def should be split screen so you can play with friends and such at home.

I actually had an idea about a class based multiplayer mode for Mass Effect Where each species was a class, Humans/Turians were soldiers, Asaries were Adepts, Quariens/Salarians were engineers etc.
