Sure, I'll be the one to bring it to your attention. For those of us who pondered the concept of Bioware's rich, textured space opera gracing the screen with a glory that will dwarf the likes of Star Wars... well read this - http://movies.ign.com/articles/109/1092495p1.html

Well then... FUCK YEAH!

Guys from Bioware are going to be executive producers, so we have some degree of safety - let's hope the movie will be good. I wonder what it will be about - a retelling of a game or a new story better suited for an actual movie?

EDIT: Is that supposed to be old news? 'cause i didn't know before now.

Somebody beat you to it. Old news is old.
Agreed.

Regardless, I'll still chip in to say I think it's a terrible idea.

I think movies and games should be separated with a 40 foot pole.

That's only fair to say if the movie or movies in question actually suck. But some reliable people are going to be on the job, and there's a good chance it will rock.

I thought about that, but to me the Mass Effect games was about more than the story of Shepard. It was about choice and with Hollywood making the choices, it'll be blown to hell. If it's the first game, during the cinematic moment of major choice at Saren's factory thing, Shepard will have a moment of thinking before Kaidan says to go save Ashley. If it's the 2nd game, Shepard will think of saving the station, say something cheesy, then blow it up. Then everybody but him make it to the ship, then he slowly appears in the distance amongst explosions.

They need to stop trying to make movies out of games. Leave the poor things alone.

Woops. Wrong thread.
Don't you hate it when that happens? Other than that, I think it will probably be interesting...REALLY expensive to make with all that CG.

I REALLY hope this movie turns out good. Loved the games. Most likely it'll be shit, though...

Also, NOTHING can rival Star Wars, NOTHING!
Mass Effect is awesome, but Star Wars beats all.

I don't know, strip away the cool concepts and Han Solo from Star Wars ... what do get? Two dimensional characters? Jar Jar and some Ewoks? Wooden, paint by numbers dialogue? I grew up on Star Wars and was quite the fan, but after taking a serious look back the only really substantial installment was Empire Strikes Back. IMO

I was born the year Star Wars came out. Its my childhood too! Actually I used to own hundreds of the original figures and vehicles... they were sadly lost as the years passed.
