"You are humming, and you're looking out of cover at those guards. Relax human, you'll live longer... probably... depends on how many more Salarian geniuses with a small army of mechs you piss off." babbled Wires.

"I feel this time crouching behind a box pretending it's formidable cover has developed our professional bond. When we get back to the bar, FREE WINE FOR EVERYBODY!" muttered Wires. "Especially smart krogan. Not dumb honourless krogan that we are nearby."

"Wires," Santius whispered angrily. "Don't go promising things when half the squad already wants to shoot you in the back and be on their way. Plus, I'm sure we're already taking enough out of your paycheck."

Lux:

"Got it," Sal said over the Comms, with a slight hint of pride in her voice for the work she's done. "I've got control of everything. Cameras, off. Mechs, disabled. Doors, unlocked and waiting for you to use them. Anything else you need?"

"Stay there in case we do," Lux said as he grabbed his Shredder with both hands and ran out from behind the Gauntlet with the others behind. "Let's move!"

With that, Aegis charged at the factory. Lux and Raven lead them, with the rest of the company following in behind as they approached. Lux looked over at Raven before pointing ahead for a moment at the guards standing near the entrance to the fence.

"Three by the gate, whose?"

"Mine," Raven said as kept moving forward.

Within a few moments, they were right at the fences for the factory. The guards only noticed them as they came within twenty yards, but it was far too late for them. Brooks pulled ahead of the others as he activated the motors in his armour to give him a boast. With it he was able to close the last several yards in a blink, as he stopped short of guards and waved his shotgun in their faces.

"I'll tell you, it'll be really dumb of you to reach for those pistols you have strapped at your sides," he said as he moved his shotgun from one to the other. "And it'll be real unfortunate for me to have to clean blood from this suit."

Lux and the other Krogan simply ran past as they moved up the ramps, and onto the platform. Two large shutter doors stood in front of them as they readied their weapons and waited for Lux's orders.

"Paladin, Korat, you take the left door. Me and Dregger have the right," he commanded as he opened the small terminal between the two. Upon activation, he found he had immediate access to their locks, as well as a couple other local systems.

That girl does know what she's doing.

Lux gave a slight, grin as he accessed the commands to open both of them so the others may storm.

"Once in, shoot at anything you see," he said as he turned back to look at the other three before committing them to their actions. "You are not to shoot to kill though. Scare them, wound them only if certain that they'll be fine afterwards. This place isn't to look like a slaughterhouse though, so keep it clean."

With that, his fingers pressed to activate the controls, as the doors started to open.

"Go! Go! Go!"

Before the doors were even fully up, Lux had already ducked under them, and had moved into the factory. He raised his Shredder, and fired a few rounds above the heads of some smugglers or guards nearby, immediately having the attention of the entire facility.

"On the ground or in a bag," Lux's voice echoed throughout the facility. "It?s your choice!"

The ones he fired at nearby immediately dropped to the ground. They had no where to run, and nothing to hide behind. Those further back though ran for the shelving units nearby, or to the ladders for the catwalks, looking for anyway to escape from the heavily armed Krogans and lone human that had suddenly stormed their base.

Dregger saw the men scrambling on the catwalk so he sent a Throw at it. It came crashing down and the men soon afterwards. It landed with a very loud clang and all the men on it found themselves either unconscious, unwilling to stand up, or with the wind knocked out of them. They were all luckily alive.

Dregger looked at Lux in time to see him give a disapproving look, to which he responded with, "What? It's not like I killed anyone."

Raven:

Raven led the rest of his squad forward, across the landing pads, leaving Brooks behind to deal with the three guards by the fence. Soon enough, they had crossed the first pad and arrived at the doors to the side of the headquarters.

"Be precise, we don't want bodies, we want captives, now---" Raven started as gunfire from Lux's team interrupted him. "Fuck it, go!"

He opened the door and he and his team streamed in to the surprise of a few that were fleeing for the exit, as more simply turned to take cover deeper behind the shelves.

Paladin saw a panicked Batarian bolting towards the heavy crates in an desperate attempt to find cover to shelter himself from any assault. Before he made it behind the crate, Ethan pulled his pistol and got him in the leg. The Batarian collapsed, but his momentum carried him behind the crate after all, although a pool of blood coming from behind the crate as well as the incomprehensible shouting, that he assumed was the Batarian's native tongue, assured Paladin that his shot had done its job.

Then a dull yellow glow of an omni-tool coming from behind the crate preceded the hiss of hydraulics and the grinding of gears as the crates front came down, revealing a series of racks holding several dozen LOKI mechs. Paladin and the Krogan assumed defensive positions, reading for the fight to come. The Mechs activated and proceed to file out of the crate, the team fired shots into the crowd, but only thinned their numbers.

The LOKI's eyes blinked red as they transitioned into combat mode, Paladin flung an overload charge into the crowd and managed to disable five of them, but even after that and the Krogan assault fire there were still nearly two dozen standing mechs, ready to fight. They raised their arms, Paladin brought up his tech armor, ready to fight.

Then the Mechs began shooting each other. Sal's hacking must not have deactivated the mechs so much as scrambled them. The mechs shot each other, the pinging and crunching of mechanical carnage ringing across the complex. And then it was done, and all the sound remaining was more running from the Batarians that didn't want to be shot, and some laughter from those among Aegis who found this particular display funny.

Santius launched a shockwave down the room, trying to knock as many of the guards out of their cover as he could.

"We still want captives, sir?" he said.

Dregger began walking around the room glaring threateningly at anyone he thought was too close to a gun when he heard mumbling coming from behind a crate. He peeked over the top and saw a volus chattering into a comm.

"Hello their my squishy little friend." Dregger growled at the pathetic little round thing.

"GAH!" it blurted as it pulled out a small pistol and aimed it at Dregger.

"HA HA HA HA! Hey Lux Look at this one!" Dregger said loudly before kicking the gun out of the small alien's hand then picking him up and holding him upside down by his foot.

Dregger chuckled to himself as he brought the volus over to Lux and dropped him on the ground. It tried to scramble away but Dregger pointed his sub-machine gun at it and it stopped moving.

"This one probably knows something, lets beat some answers out of it."

"No no please!" it pleaded.

Dregger was disgusted at how weak and pathetic it was. "It's your call Lux."

Lux:

Lux walked over to Dregger, and to examine the Volus. Most of the fighting on their side had calmed down as the remainder of the guards and smugglers had fallen back into the corner of the warehouse. Lux was able to see a few of the crates hastely rearranged to make a barrier to try and keep them back. It wouldn't last.

When he got near enough, he stopped and looked down on the Volus. He kneeled, as Dregger held him up, until he was at eye level with it. He looked into the lenses of the mask, and stared at the Volus. He could see it quaking in Dregger's hands, shaking in fear at the sight Krogan. Deciding to use this to his advantage, Lux sniffed loudely, making sure the Volus could hear him, before doing it a second time. He then let out a low growl with a heavy breath, and watched as the lenses slowly fogged. He could see the Volus starting to quiver more violently than before as he slowly rose back up.

"We'll deal with the others first, then we can see what information we can squeeze out of him," Lux said before trailing off into a deep and menacing chuckle, to set off as many alarms as he could in the Volus?s head. ?For now though, leave him with the others.?

Dregger realized what Lux was doing and thought it would be fun. He picked the volus back up and looked at it with a huge grin that showed his teeth.
"Wow, I can smell all that special air you got in that suit...delicious."

Then he held the Volus down and pinned him under the unconscious body of a Turian, whose heavy armor ensured that the volus couldn't move.

"Don't go anywhere." Dregger said to the terrified little alien before he jogged up to Lux.

"He'll tell us anything we want to know once we finish up here, and judging by the expensive look of that omni-tool he had on, he probably knows a few useful things too. So what is the plan for squashing these other pests?"

Raven:

"We want prisoners," Raven said as he watched one of the final smugglers running across the catwalks to the back. He waited until he was lined up just right, before angling his Biotics to Throw him from the edge. It worked, as the worker went tumbling over the railing and onto the ground below. Raven waited until he heard the smuggler let out a loud groan before turning back to Santius. "So yeah, keep them alive Santius."

"No problem," Santius said. "Do you see anyone still conscious?" he added, looking around.

Lux:

"At least a few are left," Lux said as he rounded the corner and headed towards Raven and his squad. "Rest have fallen behind the shelves in the corner. Dug themselves in using some of the crates."

Lux flick his elbow back and pointed with his thumb towards the corner. Several crates could now be seen pushed in and out of the lower shelves to create a makeshift wall against Aegis. While it would take a number of them in order to break the barricade apart, there were holes between the crates large enough to fit though.

"They've likely armed themselves though. Most of what they're dealing in is weapons, so they'll almost certainly have opened a few up to use against us."

"Oh please Santius, I've been a mercenary for five years or so, and in that time, I've accumulated at least 100 bottles of Asari wine... I'm thirsty. Let's get these bastards down so I can go get a drink."

Wires turned and beckoned to John and Qulana. "We should probably move up, we can flank the enemies, easy kill, good drinks tonight". he muttered.

"Boss wants us to hold position, so we hold." John said, "plus by the time we get in there Lux and Dregger'll probably already be using these two bit hacks as furniture." The whole time he was talking, one thought kept going through his mind. There is no way it's this easy, something is bound to go sideways...it always does.

Wires was saying was John was thinking. "I don't like this. They're smugglers, you'd think they have something in reserve. Guards, powerful biotics, hordes of Varren, Krogan bounty hunters, mechs, a YMIR. There has to be SOMETHING!" Wires babbled.

"And we're just here "holding"? That's crap and you know it's crap human!" Wires was starting to get close to a shout, and clearly starting to get angry.

John turned and grabed Wires by the front of his armour. "Would. You. Shut. The. Fuck. Up!" He growled. "I don't like it anymore than you, but I don't need to hear about it!" With that he released Wires, and went back to waiting. This is why I don't like to do fieldwork with salamanders. Him and that psyco Esten, I may just shoot them both.

Wires almost staggered back out of his cover, but hit is head on Erebus. "Oowww... good boy though." Wires opened a direct line to Lux. "Sir, permission to send my combat drone to harass the enemy?"

Wires sighed. "I want to do something... crappy job, probably no wine..."

I apologize for my character. In apology, enjoy Tali's face.

Brooks:

Brooks returned to the ship with the three guards marching in front of him. He had his shotgun holstered once more on his back, and was carrying two of the captured guard's SMGs in each hand. When he walked through the gates, he continued to lead them past the first two landing pads and stopping them outside the Gauntlet.

"Hold it," he said as he raised one gun to them and indicated to the side of the Gauntlet with the other. "Line up against it, lie down; face down as well, on the ground."

Without a fuss, the guards did as instructed, and lay down at the side of the Gauntlet. Once they were down, Brooks grinned from ear to ear and shook a bit with excitement.

"Man, that was awesome!" he said as he turned to the others left to guard the Gauntlet. As he spoke, his voice got quicker and quicker. "You should have seen it! We were all charging the base, they didn't see us, then I sprinted ahead just as they caught sight of us, and I pulled my shotgun on them, and said 'Don't move', and they saw everyone else behind me, and they did everything I said! Even got them to walk back, training TWO of their own SMGs on them like some bad ass cowboy or something!"

Brooks paused for a moment before giving a large sigh.

"Ok, ok," he said more slowly and calmly. "I think I got it all out of my system. But man!"
