Ocara opened his mouth to object and a flood of comments came to mind.

'Where the hell are you going'

'Your leaving?'

'I'm coming with you!'

Instead he picked up on Verhal's desire to be left alone and simply nodded.

"Good luck Boss"

With that he returned to the gameroom, fetched himself a drink and retook his seat.

"And that was just the Boss taking off on some unknown mission, without our prior knowledge, good times" said Ocara as he raised his glass to Yossar and downed the deep blue liquid inside.

Lux:

Lux was sitting in the corner of the games room. He was leaning back against it, with his eyes closed in a state between asleep and awake. He had hardly been listening to the discussions between the Turians in the room, but when Santius piped up, his attention was piqued.

"Santius everybody, the one we all wish had taken Xandus's seat."

His words were cold and brutal. They had been said so calmly and so spitefully that it was unquestionable that each word he spoke was certain in its meaning.

"Right, Xandus, the one who died in the ambush, classy to mock your fallen comrades." Yossar remarked, now turning away from the window to get a full measure of Lux, then turning back. Yossar disliked people who belittled the ones they trusted with their lives, in his first words to Yossar, Lux had mocked two of his comrades in one breath.

"Now Lux, I know Santius can be a little unbearable sometimes but even then, I wouldn't wish death upon him. I'd like to bottle him sometimes sure but I wouldn't go as far as you .... No offence" He said as he looked from Lux to Santius.

It was true, despite Santius' bitter, bitter complaining, he still considered him a friend, not one that he'd invite to many parties but a friend nonetheless.

Lux got rather riled at Yossar's comment. He got up out of his chair and stared straight at him.

"Santius doesn't even measure up to half the Turian Xandus was. He was one of the best of this company and a damn good friend. Unlike the little ***** we have left, sitting in his spot, who's only habbits include drinking, crying about every single problem, then blaming someone else for it."

He took in a deep breath to calm himself. He was still angry over Xandus's death. He and Ocara were some of the only Turians he had come to respect over the years, and each of them were held in high regard to him.

"Now Lux, I know Santius can be a little unbearable sometimes but even then, I wouldn't wish death upon him. I'd like to bottle him sometimes sure but I wouldn't go as far as you .... No offence"

He laughed a little.

"I wouldn't wish death upon the piece of Varren shit left with us. I'll pay him the respect he's earned fighting, but if you damn well expect of me to like him or even tolerate half of what he says, you've got me pegged as the wrong Krogan, Ocara. But I know Ocara, don't lie to yourself, me, or the rest of this company, that given the option, you'd have picked Xandus every, single, time."

And you've just triggered the bomb.

"No, what you do is sit there on a pedestal while trying to sink everyone else down to the level of misery you experience by existing. Hell when we're trying to unwind with a card game and get a minutes peace, who decides to come in with a personal mission to kill the enjoyment we have and try to force us to eat shit instead of having a good time. We try to deal with his death in our way but who's the deluded asshole who gets so caught up on it that tries to pull everyone down with him? Or is that just how you deal with things? You see everyone else enjoying themselves and having a good time, trying to cope with the loss of a friend, and you take it upon yourself to make them feel worse then you so you can feel better."

He started walking towards Santius, his voice growing louder and louder with each step.

"Then you sit there and point out every problem we currently have. You think the rest of us don't realize the situation? But you just repeat it over and over again without even attempting to come up with a better idea or option. Instead, you just sit there and backtalk behind everyone's back. You must have a pretty pathetic existance in order to get some sick amusement out of it. Or are you trying to bury something yourself? A failed and miserable life before you came here? What was it? The kids at school beat you up? Daddy touched you in an inappropriate way? There has to be some reason you take it upon yourself to be the shit with a mouth. I think you're just trying poorly to cover for something. I think you're so broken on the inside that you try to fix it by making yourself think everyone is worse then you."

He was now standing in front of Santius, their faces only inches apart as he continued to bark at him.

"And then you get the balls to act like you're the one being victimized, when all you've done is sat around attempting to provoke something? Why don't you snap into reality and realize that over half the shit that dribbles out of your mouth are always involve everything I've just mentioned? I'm actually wondering as well, when the last time someone actually had a conversation with you in this company was as opposed to times you've just cut into theirs to hurl insults and misery at them. If your illusion of respect involves talking shit about a person until they finally snap at you, you're the one living in a clouded fucking world. You want to keep it business, sit there, shut up, and keep to your damn self. Least that way you being here won't bother anyone else."

"You fucking hypocrite. Do you think things that happen just disappear? You're no peace keeper. You're a child sitting with a stick seeing what happens when he pushes something. Look at last night. I tell you to shut up and piss off. If you tried to make some damn peace then you'd have shut up. Instead, you keep running your fucking mouth just like you're doing now."

He paused a moment before his voice suddenly grew quiet. He was almost whispering to Santius now.

"So I'll warn you. Watch what you say. If it's true that you don't want a fight, you'll pick your next words carefully. You'll show me, and the rest of this company the respect we damn well deserve. The respect we show one another. You'll show it to me, Verahl, everyone, instead of patronizing them like always. If not, you'll have a ton of Krogan muscle bearing down on you. Think carefully. Don't do anything we'll both be regretting."

Verahl raised his Revenant at the two of them.

"Either of you make a move at each other or me, and I'll be having to call Saint up here."

Both of them turned to face him. His enterance had gone unnoticed since the arguement began. He was standing in the doorway with his machine gun held by his waist but still held right at them. He was glaring at each of them, and was clearly beyond the point of anger with each of them.

"Both of you in my office now. And Ocara, find Raven for me."

Within the minute, the three of them were in the master bedroom, standing in front of Verahl's desk. Verahl had their back to him, as he peared out over Omega's skyline. He slowly turned around to face them.

"What the hell do I have to do with the two of you?"

Lux shifted uncomfortably in front of Verahl. Truth was for him, Verahl was one of the only people he feared. He was even more nervous to see him back in Aria's armor. It brought back memories of his first few encounters with Verahl, back when he was one of Aria's enforcers and lieutenants. The others hadn't seen the sheer ruthlessness that had slowly waned over the years. It was slowly surfacing again now though. Every moment he was getting more violent, more aggressive.

Verahl's glance then fell upon him.

"That's the second outburst in two days Lux. You haven't had one of these since the start of the company and now two, both involving Santius. If I find you getting this heated again, you'll soon find the person you'll be facing to be me. And you know in the end how that will turn out... Out, now."

With that Lux quickly scurried out of Verahl's office and into the main room. Only Santius and Verahl were left standing in the office. Silence stood for a moment as Verahl's cold gaze turned lay now upon the Turian standing in front of him. Suddenly, like a whip being cracked, Verahl's command broke out.

"Sit down Santius. I have a few more issues to discuss with you."

3 things:
1:I have finally defeated the dreaded finals, so Basara may come out of his 5 day sparring session. He must be freakin' half dead by now...
2: Goddamn people! I thought you daid this thing slowed down on weekends! :)
3: What kind of species is Dray anyway? I can't remember any with horns.

Basara finally came out of the games room, calm at last. This was one of the few times he wasn't acting like he was sitting on a half-ton of c-4, ready to go at any time. It definitely showed, from his shoulders finally loosening to his face even having a slight smile on it. Though the dummies didn't look too good. He looked around, just in time to see the second outburst between Santius and Lux. He gave a nod of recognition to Yossar, then asked. "What the hell just happened?"

1. This is actually a heads up for everyone, I will be having my exams in the next week, don't be surprised if I suddenly stop posting for a while. I'll probably still be around but if worst comes to worst, Sage may be in charge for a while.

2. Uh... Exception that proves the rule!...

3. Dray is a Salarian. The tips of his head are reffered to as horns in the second if memory serves correct. If you have questions about them though, there are short bios for most characters on the first page, first post, as well as maps and other information. The more you know!

Alright. I thought he was a salarian, but I never saw a salarian with horns, so I got a little confused. Also, did he just... destroy the nerve receptors in his face? That post was slightly creepy. I am now worried Dray is going to go Saw III on the company. :)

First off, just for a xenobiology thing, all Salarians have horns.

Their horns are grown in a pair that is at the top of their skull. They curve inwards, not outwards, and normally aren't very tall.

And no, he hasn't disolved his face or anything, but something is going on with him. He just can't feel pain or anything at the moment.

Now, back to Verahl's rant.

Edit: That's the whole purpose of it. Trust me, it shouldn't make any sense right now, but will later be a thing that will be clarified. I just didn't want to pull it out later with no build up or clues beforehand so it seemed a bit more fleshed out and apparent.

"Santius, your behaviour is unacceptable. The way you treat people, namely me and Lux but I don't want to minimalize Raven, won't be tolerated any longer. And before you say anything Santius, I hear almost everything that comes up between all of you at some point. I've heard some of the things you've said about me when I'm not around. I was going to let that slide, but not any more. It seems I've been far to loose on most of you. I have Sal running off to bars, Basara thinking it's fine to go ahead his own way, and now you and Lux fighting even when I order it to stop. Am I going to need to prove why for several years, the guards at Afterlife would shake even when they heard my name? Or can we keep this a civilized company where issues may be discussed, and respect will be granted, especially to those who are in charge?"

His eyes weren't blinking, and his voice was so bitter, it started to send chills up Santius's back. It felt as though Verahl had suddenly gained an aura of fear. It now felt as though Santius were no longer sitting in front of his friend and commander, but instead a monster with no restrictions or bars holding it back.
