Is it just me, or are Bioware in serious danger of creating another halo situation when they come around to making their third game? Judging from the way the second mass effect game was quite heavily hyped up, after the relatively unknown entry of the first game, I can definitely see similarities.
I mean, the third halo game was so massively marketed and hyped up that everyone and their nan's had at least some idea about halo, and most couldn't wait to get their hands on halo 3 (myself included, even though I hadn't played the first and second games)- which was a shame because anything with that much pre-release attention was bound to disappoint at least some people. And Halo 3 has a LOT of naysayers, especially round these parts!
it's not just the way mass effect 2 got sucked into the hype machine either- the story and gameplay seem to be following the halo route as well. I mean, gameplay has been improved on in the sequel, which is definitely a plus point, even though the RPG element was pretty much shot in the back and left for dead (hopefully they'll get the gameplay spot on in the third one, just like Halo did with Halo 3).
Story wise, yes it's not really anything like halo, other than being a 'space epic yay', but after the well told story in the first game, like halo, something seemed to be missing in the second-
So yer, does anyone else think Mass Effect 3 will turn out in a similar manner to Master Chief's final chapter? Do you think it will be a big ole lump of disappointment, or will Bioware keep it cool and deliver the masterpiece of reaper-ass kicking that Sheperd deserves?

There were a few plot holes that just seemed sloppy, especially after setting out the universe in such a wonderful manner in the 1st, and come on- a human reaper?? WTF bioware, really copped us out with that one! sure it's epic but it makes as much sense as an african nation in the winter olympics!!
