Hehe, sounds like the penis game, although I don't think anyone's been suspended for playing that in our school.
I guess it's only fair that a continuous disruption of any sort be punishable, regardless of what it is. Still, good for a laugh, I suppose.

Reminds me of the time my entire class at school all broke into applause at midday for no apparent reason. We all got put on class report but it was worth it.

Meep!
I love the fact you all got put on class report for that...

What the meep? Eh, just doesn't have the same ring to it.

I think it's pretty goofy that the principal jumped on the word itself. Did they not have a rule about not disrupting classes?

So did we.
We then proceeded to push good ol' Ms. Powell to her limit. She was a shit 'moo-sik' sub-teacher anyway. What type of music teacher gets you to draw cows in a class about music?

meep meep

OT: It's not an offensive word so banning it is stupid however the students did disrupt class and for that they do deserve to be punished. I also believe South Park was onto something when Eric Cartman got diagnosed as having tourette's syndrome just so he could insult everyone.

Someone should totally contact the ACLU about this, that a catchphrase that is in no way offensive is causing students to be suspended. FAIL!
The kids are using it to disrupt classes.
If they weren't such dickheads then the word wouldn't be banned.
It wasn't banned because it was offensive, it was banned because it was disruptive.

Yeah that is pretty retarded. We got drunk and stoned with our music teacher! She was awesome...

Not in school obviously, but I'm sure she would have been up for it.

Lets enjoy some different perspectives, shall we?

First, a sufficient number of students within an entire highschool coordinated in a manner necessary to disrupt the entire flow of a system, using a single, non-offensive word.

This shows leadership, organization, innovation, and ingenuity.

Second, if one could not motivate them to stop, perhaps you are using the wrong motivation.

Third, if the principal, teachers, and general staff could not develop an alternative behavior that would return their obviously unsatisfying system to order, and develop a reasonable punishment for the use of the non-offensive word, then perhaps there is an amount of incompetence here to blame.

A quick alternative:

Have the teachers start meeping back.

Maybe interrupt all transition conversations with meeping over the intercom.

One whole week, and doing it 5 times a day, one series for every transitions. The students would get tired of it all.

Meeping?
Pfft-Hahaha!

Why would you waste your time putting a rule like that in place? If the kids want to fail, let them.

Its kind of stupid to ban the word when they can just suspend them for disruption. Honestly, if they keep saying it don't need to treat it like profanity, treat it like they're speaking when they shouldn't be. Which they are.

that brings me back to the things we did back in middle school, planning mass clapping, interpretive dance, etc. It's also good that the teachers banned meep, since this way they have to adapt and evolve,

Isn't meep also the noise that road runner makes? Haha! Meeping! I can see why the school had to ban it, but it sounds like it would have been a hilarious time until they did!

Well they brought it upon themselves. It's pretty dumb that he just banned the word "meep" and not saying something like "disrupting class" or anything.

lol but it sounds so funny!
I didn't know it became a catchphrase though, was it recently uttered in Family Guy or something?
