Well, I recommend Soulsilver/Heartgold.Nalgas D. Lemur said:Holy friggin' crap, the legendary birds are what got me to give up on catching everything in the original Blue. I think I managed to get one or two of them, but it may even have been trying and repeatedly failing to capture Articuno that made me get fed up with the game. I beat it and got my Mewtwo and all that, but the rest of those bastards were too much work. Makes me wish I'd been playing it in an emulator with save states instead of on my old GBC.Irridium said:Gen 1 (Red/Yellow): Articuno - He was my favorite legendary bird, and I wanted him instantly. I can catch Mewtwo with Ultra balls, and have become pretty good at it, so no biggie.
As far as the newer games, I haven't played any of them far enough in to ever have to make that decision. I keep wanting to like them, but they all seem to manage to do something to annoy me.
Bitches don't know bout my master plan to catch pidgeys with master balls?Irridium said:Everyone, I think we have out "winner"Bourne said:Lvl 3 Pidgey, bitches.

Yeah, my friend's been telling me the same thing, and it's kind of tempting, but I don't have my own DS, and I'm not sure if I could hijack my girlfriend's for long enough to make it through something like that. I might see if I can get away with that, though...Irridium said:Well, I recommend Soulsilver/Heartgold.
It takes the best things of all the previous games and combines them into something amazing. Plus being able to re-explore Kanto, the region Yellow/Red/Blue were set doesn't hurt either.
Going by the logic on Bulbapedia you are still wrong. The game itself is 4th gen but the Pokemon within are every gen before 4th. HG/SS are basically 2.5 Gen since they are rehashes with a lot different game style. Also going by Bulbapedia's logic that will make Pokemon Black and White also 4th Gen and not 5th Gen. The Generations tend to go by the Pokemon not the game and when it is made.Irridium said:Bulbapedia categorizes them as Gen4 games, so I will as well.Krion_Vark said:Heart Gold/Soul Silver are reboots of Gen 2. Generation 4 is Diamond, Pearl, and PlatinumIrridium said:Gen 4(Soulsilver): Raikou - I needed a good electric pokemon for the Elite 4. I got Lugia earlier with a few Heavy Balls, so it was free and just used it on Raikou. Glad I did, because I'm hunting after Entei right now, and he's a ***** to catch. I also have to get Latios. May as well take one out easy.

The games (Soulsilver and Heartgold) also contain pokemon from the 4th gen, if the pokedex is anything to go by.Krion_Vark said:Going by the logic on Bulbapedia you are still wrong. Fire Red and Leaf Green had Gen 2 Pokemon but by and large are considered reboots of gen 1Irridium said:The games (Soulsilver and Heartgold) also contain pokemon from the 4th gen, if the pokedex is anything to go by.
