Alot of Devin Townsends stuff, alot of Deaths stuff, all of city by Strapping Young Lad, Kings to come by alghazanth, all o f Ocean Machine by Devin Townsend, all songs off of Inme's last 2 albums.
I love you.

hey! Unable, we have a Dev fan over here!

Just got through Deconstruction for the first time, his best work since City in my opinion. And Ghost is massaging my brain after the insanity.

Awesome yeah, in a earlier post i said im gonna see him on the 9th of august, driving about 300 miles to where the gigs at but should be worth it, the best part is is that its a tiny venue so there will only be about 300-500 people, also with Dave McPherson (whos band INME are amazing you should check them out if you like proggressive technical stuff http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sr0jaJG2NmM). should be a great night.

Being a fan of the sub-genre of symphonic metal, I'm going to have to go with Ghost Love Score by Nightwish. :) Gives me the chills every time I hear it. But only if it's Tarja singing it.

1) Into the Pit - Testament

Like 50% of metal songs are about metal or being a metalhead... and this is the best of them.

2) Slayer - Postmortem/Raining Blood

Specifically, the transition between postmortem and the intro to raining blood. Fucking god I love that part... DUN DUN DUN dunnanana nuhnana nuhnana DUN DUN DUN dunnanana nuhnana nuhnana \m/(>.<)\m/

3) Marty Friedman's solo in Tornado of Souls

Dear god... just Marty Friedman... how... do you do... GAH MARTY FRIEDMAN!!!

For me an absolute masterpiece of metal is Opeth's - Reverie/Harlequin Forest Excellent clean lyrics, fantastic mellow interludes, awesome fucking metal sections and some fierce growls when needed! They have so many awesome songs but this one still tops out as one of my favorite Opeth songs.

Funeralopolis - Electric Wizard

Amazing amount of energy crammed into a slow song, without harming the stoner doom ambiance by being too peppy. A real tightrope act EW walks to perfection.
Hell yes. Although Return Trip is probably my favourite.

Ima just post gojira in everyone of these threads. Best metal out there nowadays.
100% fucking agree right there. This thread also has a serious lack of Immortals At the Heart of Winter in it.

I'm surprised it took 90+ replies to finally get ninja'd, but well played. Just insert the whole Reign In Blood album, 37 minutes of thrash perfection.
Nice to see they are still kicking
