After all our complaints that we're sick of generic action, how can we turn down the opportunity to be shown a deeper character... alongside Max Payne style Ultraviolence?

As an Ultra myself, I say with clarity that Ultra is better.

Meh...I kept thinking I was playing a old man with flaby muscles in a tight suit sneaking shooting everyone with a tranq gun.

It seems a little Gay for a bunch of guys to complain that their male main character isn't good enough looking.

I feel sorry for Max Payne. We all saw the "painkiller" addiction coming, but he didn't deserve to become bald...or fat...or sad.

Still, I'll gladly play the game. But what is up with games taking place in Brazilian slums? I'm from Brazil and I still don't get it. Modern Warfare 2 is going to take place here in Rio as well. Was it because of the CS map "cs_rio"?

And how did Max Payne get here? Please don't tell me we've got ties with Nicole Horne!

Seriously, how is he fat again? He looks like he carries weight like a normal old guy. Except the huge muscles thing.

I think he looks realistic. Almost a bit like a convict. Considering what he went through, I'm glad to see they are at least trying to follow through with the story and not just cookie-cutter out some more payne.

Nice to see there's at least one person in this thread who might actually get it.

Max Payne was a special character, in very special videogames. The Max Payne games, particularly the second one, weren't about shooting guys. It was a love story. It was a tale of loss, revenge and redemption. Of rebirth. There was so much going on in those games that reducing it to "lol lets shoot sum guyz" seems like an incredible waste. Max Payne in Brazil? What's the point?

I'm always willing to give the benefit of the doubt, especially in the early stages, but based on what little we've seen so far this isn't going to be anything more than some serious corpse-raping.

I like him like this, always did a good job of making him human, and I don't see how not having an 30 something hero is going to hurt the game, if anything it will maintain the feeling of maturity that the series has always had. And I mean real maturity not this swearing, oversexed kind that we see in games way to much.

One concern is about the plot, hows it going to hold together after a decade?

I get that Max is a bit fatter and bald, but his face is totally different.
Ahh well, I might as well stop complaining cause nothing will stop me from buying the game.

I always imagined that the Max in MP 3 would by the looks be more like Al Pacino(he has a similar haircut in MP2.A skinny guy that with hair, asocial, no job, out of hes mind
Or the fat version(he was chubby in MP2 already:Ray Liotta he could be the perfect basis for the fatter Max(and older)
and, on that picture he isnt really fat, look hes arm and shoulders..those are muscels and hes boobs arent flubby....
he looks like Sam Fisher or like Psycho and f*ck that, its awful
