Well, that actually sounds... good. Nice to know that at least it won't interfere with the main game. Whether or not I'll play it much remains to be seen as the single player is always the higher priority for me with story heavy games like this.
But still it sounds good, sounds like it might be fun to play with friends over Xbox Live at least. I'll get to have my own co-op adventures with friends, I imagine I'll be a Krogan Soldier or something.

Also I kind of like the fact that Garrus, Ashley, Wrex, Liara and Tali and everyone else WON'T be playable characters. I feel it's just better that way, be your own Krogan or Turian or whatever. I like that better honestly.

Anyway this really just sounds like a bonus but it is a hell of a bonus nonetheless. I'm still more interested in finishing the single player and defeating the Reapers and romancing Ashley and kicking ass with Garrus... but it's cool that I'll have something to do after all that.

So they made it have an impact on the story but it's optional to do so = Excellent

The multi-player was made by another Bioware studio = Good

You can play as Asari, Turians, Krogans and the other races = Very good

Sounds like they have hit the jackpot

And let's see how many people choose to play as an Asari.
I think Asari and Krogan will be the most popular choices
Yup, though I will admit, Turian females could be the wild card option if they're available (as i hope they hilariously are).

As long as they don't show us Batarian women or children

I'm curious about how the krogan females will look like since my brain refuses to come with suggestions

Just... why? =/

I don't understand why they had to staple yet another multiplayer onto yet another Triple A game. Mass Effect doesn't need multiplayer and therefore I think adding it is just stupid. I also don't want complete trolls and rude aggressive players inside Mass Effect 3. It's the fastest way to ruin anyone's fun.

The worst part is, I was defending BioWare here saying they wouldn't do it. Guess I was wrong...

At least it isn't manditory. Thank god for that. I would rather keep Mass Effect a personal solo experience. It was a good move to keep the design teams seperate.

And I will give BioWare credit. It sounds like they're doing the best they can with multiplayer. It doesn't sound bad like other multiplayers I've seen lying around. But I doubt I will be engaging in it.

I want my Quarian dammit, as long as that's a race we can play the multi-player will always have at least SOME good points for me. I don't care if it's Tali, she's there for story and for adorableness with a splash of badass, I can understand if she's not in the multi-player.

EDIT: And I am happy to know that we don't HAVE to play co-op to get the perfect ending.

Now it's my turn to be the Salarian Engineer.

I also still don't understand the rather large outcry against this. It's been made clear that playing the Multiplayer is not necessary to achieve the full story, and that the MP stories don't include Shepard.

Mass Effect has always been Shepard's story, which you can still see through to the end perfectly via single player. So what's the big deal?

Cool.. I think I'd probably make a Turian 'Soldier' class, Turians are one of the more interesting races so it'd be cool to run as one xD though I don't think I'd go run around with the name 'Archangel' XD

i wonder if you will be able to play 4 player co-op from one console, cause i hate games that say they have multiplayer but only have online multiplayer.

also i hope you can pick geth as one of the races cause legion was one of my favourite characters from ME2

I think there was one in ME2, on the Krogan homeworld. I recall her looking disappointingly like the males. I'm hoping for some creativity with Turians and Batarians *if* they're included.

I think it was during Mordins loyalty missions wasn't it? Because if I remember correctly she was in a
body bag so you could not see her face

I think there's a live one near where the shaman is, in a space suit or something. I'll have to check this when I get the chance.

Please do. As I said, I think she's where the Shaman for Grunt's loyalty mission is, or that general vicinity.

You know what impresses me the most about this announcement? Practically no one has raged and people are is willing to give Bioware a chance with this. Seriously, good work.

That Krogan wasn't female. He was the ambassador to the female camp, not from.

There's a female Krogan in one of the ME3 previews. She looks and sounds significantly different to the males.
