I think there's a live one near where the shaman is, in a space suit or something. I'll have to check this when I get the chance.

Well, now I'm really curious I started a new playthrough and think I'm at the loyalty missions part
That Krogan wasn't female. He was the ambassador to the female camp, not from.

There's a female Krogan in one of the ME3 previews. She looks and sounds significantly different to the males.
Ah! That makes sense. Thanks for clearing that up.

Anyway, here's hoping for a Turian female.

Yay! Looks like Mass Effect 3 will have a feature for me to ignore and never use, just like the Cerberus Network in Mass Effect 2. I probably would have tried the multiplayer but it was heavily implied that you can't do it locally, on one console.
Why would you want to? I never understood this. Sure local multiplayer you get the social aspect of having friends over, but then you have to deal with split screens messing with your vision, and it's way too hard to set up LAN parties. If you have the friends to play it locally why not play with them online? It's easier to arrange, you get a full screen to play with, and you can still talk to them and coordinate moves. So unless you just like staring at your friends when they come to play then there is no reason to hate online coop. It just makes everything more convenient. Besides, you know you wanna play as a Krogan or Turian too badly to avoid the coop. :p

EDIT: I just thought about this, sure local coop is great and if my friend is already over then why not, but disliking it based on the fact that it's online and trying to make playing with other people more convenient for you is just illogical. They should have local coop but online is definitely more important.

Check out the video, screenshots and FAQ here [http://masseffect.bioware.com/me3/game/multiplayer]

Not really much to add - it's all in the link.

It seems to fit the setting, will impact single-player in no meaningful way if at all, is developped by another Bioware studio (Montréal) while still being under the creative direction of Casey Hudson, will allow me to play as a Turian while killing puny Cerberus hirelings, and adds replay value to a game i will already play twice at the very least. If they polish it and manaege to pull it off, I am for it.

Tohuvabohu

Not entirely serious, maybe.

I wished they included some actual coop gameplay, but I guess that will come in time.

Everything is sounding good to me so far. I'm way more excited for ME3 now that it has Multiplayer.

My main issue with online only co-op comes from the fact that I live with my GF who is also a gamer. If I want to play Mass Effect 3 with her, we would both need our own copy of the game, our own systems and our own TVs. It isn't just people in that situation: what about kids with siblings? As a kid, playing Mario Party with my sister and random other visiting relations was freaking awesome. So was playing Goldeneye and other N64 games. That was back when TVs were smaller and had generally crappier screens. Split-screen in this day and age can still bring about screen-peaking but with Mass Effect that wouldn't be an issue since you're playing co-op.

I've had similar issues with Saint's Row 2. Why feature Co-Op in the main menu when there's no local co-op?! Granted you can get both Saint's Row games on a cheap disc but for a brand-new triple A game it isn't worth buying an extra disc for the same household.

But just like with Saint's Row 2, the multiplayer in Mass Effect 3 is 100% optional and will likely be ignored by me when it comes out.

It can always be worse escapists.

Think back recently to when gaming news and media venues were (over)hyping late-summer/fall releases like RAGE and Bodycount based on thin/empty promises of "innovation" & "reimaginative content".

And then they were released... :(

Were any of those games truly anywhere near those boastful claims from both publishers and previewers alike? Nope. In the case of Bodycount, it it massively under par in comparison to even mediocre/generic FPSs of the past 2~3 years; it was toted as a rejuvenated, noir(-ish), "Borderlands-esque" pioneering take on the genre. What happened?

I say "be thankful for the good installments we've received thus far", when absolute shite may be around the bend masquerading as "absolute awesomeness".

OT: I hope they include vorcha as possible character models. I look forward to grief the absolute crap outa NPC enemies as an Soldier-class.

[a href="http://images.wikia.com/masseffect/images/c/ce/Vorcha.png"]Face of doom[/a]

Either that, or a Geth Infiltrator. *passes out from excitement overload*. When you hear that nightmareishly distorted baud modem sound you're already dead mofos... :p
