Actually...

Just a thought, is it possible to do every loyalty mission, and save the crew?

Like is it possible for me to do legions loyalty quest and then leave immediatly for the crew?
Yep.
But you get Legion after the IFF mission... and then if you go to another planet the Collectors raid the ship.

And you don't actually GO any where...
You should be able to do legions loyalty mission straight after the Reaper IFF without the collectors attacking. If i remember correctly, you get one free mission without losing the crew.
Then you have to go straight to the suicide mission or you lose most of the crew.
You do 1 mission after collector attack on you ship you lose kelly
You do more you lose everyone but the doc
Oh OK.

On my first play through I was getting annoyed at the so few collector encounters so I gleefully rushed on into the iff mission hoping to kill some collectors.

Sadly no collectors =[

I've killed more Humans then proper "enemies" what does that say about the game? I don't know...

It have been mentioned before, but max out your paragon/renegade and talk to Miranda, easy-peasy-japanesy

No there isn't anyway to get her loyalty back*. To keep Miranda alive don't give her any jobs on the suicide mission and don't take her with you to the final boss. I'm not 100% sure if that will save her but people only seem to die when you give em jobs. I have heard of people dying randomly but it seems to be rare. You don't need full loyalty to come out with everyone, I know that for a fact.

I was lucky though, I always have enough Paragon/Renegade points to do the impossible. Screw Neutrality!

*Edited.

Also, if you do Jack's mission first and side with her can you then go and do Miranda's and gain her loyalty as well? I've never tried that.
1. Dying depends on a lot of factors, loyalty, who the other people are in the squad, etc. Miranda doesn't die if she leads the first alternative team, for instance.

2. Side with Miranda, then go tell Jack that you were just lying to shut her up. You can do a similar thing with Legion/Tali by siding with Tali and telling Legion that you were just lying to shut Tali up.

3. They only start fighting after you've finished BOTH loyalty missions. So there's no way to side with one before they are both loyal. Same with Tali's mission.

Or use paragon/renegade.

If not those... then I think you're screwed. If you want them to live even though they're not loyal, then I wouldn't take them anywhere or give them any jobs in the final mission, as was suggested. Just to be safe.

Mordin IS a wimp, he has a quite high chance of dying in the final act. The best thing to do is to have him lead the survivors back because that way he will definitely survive.
I like to take Mordin with me to the boss fight. He's incinerate makes really quick work of Harbinger whenever he decides to pop up. Mordin survived when I took him and Samara to the final battle.

I always wondered if the teammates surviving that final battle has to do with researching enough health boosting upgrades and what not. Because I've seen the cinematics where they die, and they essentially get clobbered by the debris you pick off of them in the cinematic. In my game they stood up and they were fine. On youtube, it looks like they're too injured and die.

No way to get her loyalty back, but it doesn't mean people will die. Just don't assign Jack to do anything in the suicide mission.

Yes.

1. Do EVERYTHING you intend to do in the game BEFORE the Reaper IFF (Loyalty missions, exploration, assignments, shopping, upgrades)

2. Do the Reaper IFF mission.

3. Immediately after the mission (don't touch the Galaxy map) go wake Legion up. After he joins you, talk to him again and you'll get his loyalty quest.

4. Go to the Galaxy map. The Collector Raid won't happen right away and you can now do Legion's mission before the kidnapping (worked three times in a row for me). That way you have everything cleared when they take your crew and can go right after them.

5. After the kidnapping, you have a small window before your crew starts dying. I believe you can go do some last minute shopping if you need it. Some people stated they did a mission or two between the kidnapping and going through the relay and they still made it in time, but I can't comment on that.

I had about 75% renegade points when they had their spat and I was able to use the Renegade option to save the loyalty of both.
I've only done the final mission once and everyone survived on me. Miranda led the fire team both times, Tali was my tech specialist, Jack did the biotic part and Grunt escorted people back to the ship. Garrus and Mordin were in my party the whole time. Everyone was loyal as well.

Ive heard You need about 80% paragon or renegade when the conflict happens and 100% if you side with one of them and and the other gets mad. Only tested with siding with jack though, because miranda was just being a ***** about it and jack was clearly in the right. It worked though.

Tips on getting full paragon/renegade

talk to everyone possible and choose the most suitable for paragon/renegade style
talk to the crew after every mission and do the same
there is a "passive" class skill (the one which grants you health and damage bonuses) that also boosts your paragon renegade levels, and when it evolves at level 4 (10 points) there is an option that will significantly boost P & R levels

in addition there is a infinite paragon glitch in samaras loyalty mish (google it)

Nope, you need a certain Paragon/Renegade level at that scene or you're screwed. Same with Tali and Legion.

Make sure not to give Miranda any jobs, or take her to the last fight.

I sided with Jack over Miranda in ME2 and lost her loyalty. Is there any way to win her loyalty back and save my entire crew? I am rather annoyed as I was about 2 paragon points away from being able to talk them both down
The first guy to post is a liar. You have to get your paragon or renegade points up to 100% to calm her down.

...not true.

If you fail to settle the argument you can later talk to the loser and regain the lost Loyalty if your Paragon/Renegade score is large enough. I'm certain of this because I've done it. My first playthrough I sided with Jack (Paragon score too low) and then respeced my char for a higher Paragon bonus from my passive skill before taling to Miranda. Lo and behold, I got a Paragon option with her and we made up...

That's good to know!

I hate Jack anyway. She's way too emo. I might just let her die when I do my insanity playthrough.

As far as I can tell, anyone without full loyalty will die at some point. The only deciding factor with regards to tasks is WHEN they will die, and if they take someone else with them. But no matter what you do those with low loyalty WILL die by the end. I suggest going and doing an extra side quest or something to pick up a few extra paragon/renagade points, or accept that you can't save everyone this time and restart.
I sided with Miranda. As long as you don't pick anyone who isn't loyal to complete a task (or on your squad) no one should die.

First run-through: I picked Loyal Thane/Grunt and Loyal Tali (as tech specialist) - Picked Loyal Jacob to send back crew. Picked Loyal Miranda for distraction team, loyal Samara as my biotic specialist. Final mission I picked Tali/Grunt. I didn't lose anyone.

Also I had all the ship upgrades so I didn't lose anyone during the battle with the collector ship.

No, you're pretty much boned. What this means is don't use miranda for ANYTHING during the suicide run. I had this problem and found a solution for my second play through. When this conflict occurs make sure you paragon/renegade bar is 80% full or more. Basically make sure either jack or miranda's loyalty mission isn't done until your bar is that high.

I had that same problem, I'm pretty sure that you need to talk to both of them a lot before doing Jack's mission. Otherwise the paragon/renegade speech is blocked, and you have to piss off one of them. And no, there is no way to win her loyalty back.

No you can do one mission before the collector's board your ship, just talk to Legion immediately after the first introduction and he will tell you about the heretics straight away, they won't check the IFF til you get back from that mission when you next approach the Galaxy map! They say it will take a few hours to install when you get it. :) HTH

I *still* haven't figured out why Legion died in my first playthrough. I had everyone (except Zaeed) loyal and I didn't use him for anything. Legion died whilst hacking the door and Zaeed on the way back to the ship. This time around I intend to make sure everyone survives... somehow. For the Miranda-Jack and Tali-Legion arguments I was always high enough Paragon to defuse them so I never knew about the 100% paragon/renegade win-back-loyalty option. I'll remember it, just in cas, this time around (I just finished Jack's loyalty quest and am about to start Miranda's)

you have to choose either Legion or Tali to go into the tunnel, and you need either Miranda, Jacob or Garrus to lead the first fire team, any other choice, and the tunnel person gets a rocket to the face.

as for the escape, I have no idea what triggers people to die, other than time. when you arm the bomb it does say you have ten minutes. so my guess is it has something to do with that.
