Ok guys, you all knew this was coming. :p

With the Extended Cut out tomorrow for most people (what is it with Sony and borking up BioWare's stuff?), what are your predictions about it?

Will it be good?
Will it suck?
Will it deliver as promised?
Will it add even more layers of obscurity to something that's already nigh impossible to comprehend?
Will it provide adequate explanations for things now?
Or will we simply be subjected to more cases of "lolspacemagic"?

Put simply: How good do you think it's going to be?

CAPTCHA: hocus pocus. Indeed, CAPTCHA, indeed.

Something I hope for (probably in vain) is that the ridiculous plot holes at the very, very end are filled in.

How'd your squad get back on the Normandy?
Why was Joker running away?
How'd the victory fleet get to their respective homes?

Mostly the non-sensical three choices need to go or have Shepherd challenge the irritating entity in question more.

I want to see what happens to my crew, Shepard's ultimate fate, and a closing monologue with Harbinger

Being a person that just finished ME2 recently and haven't picked up ME3 yet I haven't payed too much attention to this whole MacGuffin but I'm hoping it'll be good for when I do start playing it. :)

Honestly not getting my hopes up, short of a total redo of the ending I don't see how they could possibly fix it up.

So, the kid is apparently staying. That alone think will invoke a "meh" response from most of the people who were upset. Then I predict EA will spin another marketing sham how that means it was entirely awesome.

But honestly, I doubt people will even bother to be upset by it. Sure, a few fans may find closure, but from what I hear about it, the things that pissed off the community the most (the deus ex machina and the Endingtron 3000) are staying in. Well, maybe the deus ex machina will even turn into dei ex machina...

At least one of those is getting answered, looking at the blog post.

Needs a conversation with Harbinger, full stop. I was sorely disappointed that he didn't have a single line in the whole game. I was fully expecting to hear him speak at the end...didn't utter a single syllable. :/

Why did they not consider that all these previous dicisions would meen something to the players?

And didn't they have an editor, or even just QA testers, to point out the aforementioned plot holes and inconsistencies?

Having said that, even their books need post-release patches...

My personal opinion? Because they were being rushed. Having delayed it once already, EA were pressuring BioWare to put the game out and put it out NOW, rather than let them take their time and sort things out their way; resulting in cut corners, poor decisions and the mess we ended up with.

There's also a rumour floating around that, during the end stages of writing, Casey Hudson locked the writing staff out and basically created the ending all on his lonesome, which would go a long way to explaining why it's in such a state. I don't know if it's true or not, but if it is, then he should lose his job over it. Not just for the piss poor quality, but for not letting the writing staff do their job and costing EA loads of money in PR counter-acting the backlash, that they otherwise wouldn't have had to spend (not that I care one bit about EA's bottom line).

And lol, I heard about that fubar with the book. Made me facepalm.

As for my own opinions (which I should have put in the OP, in retrospect): I hope that it will improve on what's there, but like a lot of people, I'm not getting my hopes up too much.

I'm not excited about it, but to say I'm completely uninterested is a lie.

How was he allowed to (allegedly) do that? Don't they have other senior staff to tap him on the shoulder and say 'calm down, let them do their job'?

One would think, even though he's project director. Like I said, I don't know if it's actually true or not, but it wouldn't surprise me.

I personally hope to get some explanations behind the Catalyst, like it's true origins and stuff, maybe back off of the "this is your only options" stuff. That way it won't come off as the "plot convenience!"

Apparently the changes or additions are going to start at the Cerberus base, so I'm still wondering what is actually getting changed or added to in that particular part of the game.

OT: The scene with Joker and the Normandy "fleeing" needs to be explained properly or removed completely.
And maybe a bit of an epilogue for each of the characters, so we're not left guessing!
Definitely Joker fleeing the battle will be dealt with, the blog post has evidence of that. I know that you have to start playing from the Cereberus base onwards, but I haven't seen tell that they're changing anything there. Will keep an eagle eye on that part when I play through it...

I could've sworn somewhere in the game (maybe Javik?) said that it was a result of all the different cycles basically put another idea or something into it and this was pretty much the end product. So I just kinda went with that and it made sense. And I think the Protheans had it finished but by the time they did they were already to late so they basically had to hope the next cycle would figure it out and be able to win

I think the people who are pissed off will be moderately appeased and the people who don't care anymore will be mildly interested. Honestly it took too long, most of the momentum of the fan-base is gone.

I never got Javik, so it's possible I'm probably missing out on some vital info. To the Mass Effect wiki!

That last one is not a plot hole.
