I think there is no reason or meaning, beyond what we decide to be our meaning.

So far it would appear that if the universe does have some meaning to coming into existance, then it is to transform energy into a form where it cannot do any work, ie. Heat-Death of the Universe.

But I don't think there is any inherent meaning to anything.
